"President Smith then stated that the meeting had been called, because God had commanded it; and it was made known to him by vision and by the Holy Spirit. . . . it was the will of God that they should be ordained to the ministry and go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time, for the coming of the Lord, which was nigh even fifty six years should wind up the scene." (History of the Church, Vol. 2, page 182).This prophecy was spoken by Joseph Smith in 1835, and recorded by Oliver Cowdery. The fifty-six years were passed by 1891.
Deuteronomy 18:22 (King James Version) 22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
That is quite scary.
No one should insist that people don't think for themselves.

Ask him if he read the rest of the article, or if he can provide you with the context article from a 60 year old magazine.
You might also want to ask him if he really studied the article for himself, or if he is just making you think he did by not providing the source he got the soundbite out of.
Sounds like we are all in agreement! The RMs do a great job! Thank you RMs!

You show that you do not know what has really happened and how far back it happened.
I find this to be common among ya’ll.
One of the antis, who goes by "Godzilla," told everyone my name, which was actually on my profile before their religion moderator biffed it to keep others from reading it. (I had the "Mormon Index" list of links on it and they didn't like that.)
I don't understand why greg is so upset, he's been a drama queen about it that you haven't kept it a secret. Its on every post on your little social site. The only thing I can think of was that he wasn't zotted with the typical flair most trolls receive.
Now I've warranted not just one but two comments:
To this, a guy named "Godzilla" who is one of the real bullies of the anti-Mormon bunch replied:
Well, when he can't troll people off FR, his little social group of 80 is pretty boring, so he's gotta do something to keep his site "active".
If anyone has bothered to research greg's activity, he is always trying to pull people into his site. Infact, the lead blog article he posted indicated that it was the very purpose of going into FR in the first place was to draw people to spam. No greg we at FR are not afraid of your little band of jihadists who are expecting the black helicopters to come and get them at any time for the anti's final solution. Promotion of that kind of thinking on your part to your followers indicates that you have some serious character issues.
This is blasphemy of the worst sort. And your attempt to hide it by refusing to answer my questions while at the same time accusing me of deception is the worst kind of blasphemous deception.
=+=+=
Nailed it!

You have the right to say you do not believe God’s teaching to be true.
I is the way some here have tryed to misrepresrnt what we teach that I have objected to.
(Gasp!)
Do you suppose that greg west is in reality Rahm Emanuel???
I thought that kind of tactic was the methodology of the communistic administration.
I feel sorry for honest mormons on FR. But not the ones that have given west ammo to use against FR.
I'm wondering why giving aid and comfort to the enemy hasn't resulted in a banning or two.
LOL...
Fred my question was a simple follow up to clarify where we are wrong.
The fact you had to abandon and obfuscate further proves us right not wrong.
Not only does the Emperor have no clothes but you are our best asset...
He did not mislead the reader, I have seen all of his posts.
I still do knot know if he did it thinkingly, or if he just does it out of habit.
You've said that several times, and it has been proven untrue. Therefore it is becoming an attack upon the truth and a way to not answer the questions asked. You complain about people taking things out of context, then you do the same and make your same false accusation against P-Marlowe
To clarify for the record, here is the complete post that you excerpted to hide the question:
Most of us that ask you questions don't do it with out thinking.To:fproy2222Here is the question you and others have been asked to answer, as posed by P-Marlowe:Then to clarify, he added this part to the question:Did Joseph Smith teach that God was once as we are now and is an exalted man?
Yes or No?
Do you believe it?
Was God just a human being like us and did he later become a God?Bear in mind that the word "exalted" is a descriptive term.It describes what kind of man god is, in the context of your LDS writings.
Here is The Link to the question so you can refer to it as you ponder your answer.
These are very simple questions that are answered in your writings.
Please answer them, or just tell us you haven't read enough to be knowledgeable in that area or that you refuse to answer.
Thank you.
Christianity teaches us to use our minds and to do our own thinking, not just accept statements with out checking them with scripture.
Mormon teaching teaches to have leaders speak for them.
Quoted at least twice up thread:
"When our leaders speak, the thinking has been done. When they propose a plan it is God's plan. When they point the way, there is no other which is safe. When they give direction, it should mark the end of controversy." (Improvement Era, June 1945, p. 354)Do you accept Improvement Era, June 1945, p. 354 to be writings from your teachings?
A simple yes or no would be a good answer, or else if you are not familiar with that teaching, just say so.
And then look it up unless your are forbidden to do so.
Please also answer the questions posted by P-Marlowe and copied to this post also.
Well that's your opinion which so far, in America, you still get to have as a God-given right.
Those whom you believe "have been corrected" are also free to have their opinion.
That's what a religion forum is for, but unless you can present your opinion reasonably well to convince others, and the general rule is to support your theological argument with scripture and leave out personal feelings, you have no place on these forums.
And if "by correction" you mean that by stating that the bible of Judaic-Christian believers has been corrupted along with all of the churches that respect and follow its teachings, and that the God revealed in its text is not the god you worship, then expect to have problems, because we will fight, ie, earnestly contend, for the faith that was once delivered to the saints (Jude 1:3)
Zane Grey's "Riders of the Purple Sage" and Arthur Conan Doyle's "A Study in Scarlet" were written a long time ago and both offer pretty startling perspectives of the bloodthirsty tradition of Mormons in those early days. And while it seems a long time ago ... it wasn't really all that long ago.
No one is attempting that.Only a cult forbids you you to think for yourself.+++++++++++++++=
And yall work very hard to force us to think only like yall.
Another deception on your part.
We are trying to get you to think. For yourself.
I believe in every single one of God's teachings. What I do not believe in is the heretical and Satanic teachings of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, et al.
I wanted that to be perfectly clear
He is also making the LDS look bad.
I just HATE (oops!) extremely dislike folks coming in these threads and have the AUDACITY that they can think like a MOMON.
It YTOTALLY frosts my - well; you get the idea...)

Exaltation
See Eternal Life
<><>
Eternal Life
Eternal life is the phrase used in scripture to define the quality of life that our Eternal Father lives.
The Lord declared, “This is my work and my gloryto bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man” (Moses 1:39).
Immortality is to live forever as a resurrected being.
Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, everyone will receive this gift.
Eternal life, or exaltation, is to live in God's presence and to continue as families (see D&C 131:14).
Like immortality, this gift is made possible through the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
However, to inherit eternal life requires our “obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel” (Articles of Faith 1:3).

Do you see the changes that are mentioned that makes God more the a man?
More then you and I.
PS. Some of ya’ll will try to divert attention from this simple answer by mentioning the references to us being partly responsible for our progression in the eternities.

I did, and you are showing how much you care to research what you say.
IT's early yet.
I'm just SURE those HAteful Bigots will; someday or time; make the list.
--MormonDude(if you wish; I can get a couple of our missionaries to visit your home with instructions on how to be removed from the List)
Oh man that is sick
I did Fred...
I almost think you are a double agent..
You certainly are helping us so called “antis” with every post...
