This is your reminder to LIGHT UP your home, car, deck light anything that will let you love shine in protest to...This years Earth Hour, which happens on March 28, Saturday, 8:30 p.m., aims to gather 1 billion votes for Earth, which will be presented to the world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. The meeting will determine policies on global warming that will replace the Kyoto Protocol.
Believe it or not, a certain nameless power supplier had an e-mail from management warning the generation dispatchers to watch for significant load swings because of this "earth-hugger" event. I seriously hope that we swung things the other way.
Midwest lights on, Harley running, clothes drying, and nice campfire in the yard.
“I have a feeling that the red states will be much better lit than the blue ones this evening! “
I just said that to my husband, except I said the “southern states” hahahaha
My 9 year old is taking delight in turning everything on...he can’t stand Obama!
Boy! It sure is bright in here! I have 2 tvs, 2 radios, all lights on, A/C, and microwave. Opened the door a few times and made the security beam come on nice and bright as well!
What is he, a burglar?
lol...
10 homes neighbors and across the street lit as usual in CST
I’m just having too much fun. This should be illegal — oh wait it will probably be illegal very soon.
He’s used to working in the dark.

LOL good thing I wasn’t sipping anything, might have snorted it all over.
My meter difference from 826p to 926p was only 30 kilowatts
I let you all down — sorry.
All my lights are on, TV is on, fans are on, heaters are off until 8:30
Still 3 hours to go here in Alaska
At least you would have had plenty of light to clean up by.
It's 9:40. Powering down to 50% of max. Mission accomplished!
Just checked the neighbors. Must be a lot of folks out tonight. Only one house turned lights back on. Of all the houses on the street, it was the one I predicted for sure.
Does this mean that Bammy is going to ‘pull the plug’ on his TelePrompTer?

My house is lit up like a Christmas tree, but most are all CFL’s. I unscrewed a few and put in some old incandescent bulbs :))
To the contrary - you exceeded the efforts of most. My usage was probably closer to 5 KWH given that my "big" load was the dryer and the heating element in that machine cycles as needed to keep the temperature where it's supposed to be. Plus, I had a 5 minute down time on the dryer, waiting for the next load of wash to be finished.
My lighting load was pretty constant though. And, I made dang sure that I had all the exterior lighting on so that the neighbors knew on which side of the fence I sat.

Good job!
