This is your reminder to LIGHT UP your home, car, deck light anything that will let you love shine in protest to...This years Earth Hour, which happens on March 28, Saturday, 8:30 p.m., aims to gather 1 billion votes for Earth, which will be presented to the world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. The meeting will determine policies on global warming that will replace the Kyoto Protocol.
I’ll let you know in 30 minutes. Central time Nashville here
Got the living room light on, the kitchen light on (even though I’m not in there), my laptop going, the big-screen tv, HD DVD player (I’m watching Seinfeld if you must know), the sound system (including the powered subwoofer—yes, for Seinfeld).
See, something crazy left-wing enviro-wackos don’t get is that I’M PAYING FOR ALL OF THIS therefore it isn’t a waste. The cost of this electricity falls directly on me. Don’t like the small external cost of air pollution caused by the generators? Switch to nuclear.
All houses on my block are lit, even the nobama voters. Apparently this didn’t catch on very well.
My husband and I turned on every light in the house. We went out and took pictures too. I wish I knew how to post them, but it’s a new camera, and I don’t know yet how to download them from my camera.
Most houses in my neighborhood look as they always do, porch lights are on everywhere.
There’ll still be daylight left up here at 8:30 p.m.
We’ll have all our lights on, including our security lights which keep our American flag illuminated 24/7.
That's the spirit. Turn off 1000 watts and try again!
Just got an email from a friend in FL. Everyone in her area has their lights ON.
Leave it to NYers to turn dark.
Sickening
I have a feeling that the red states will be much better lit than the blue ones this evening!

If I was a criminal I know where I’d be and it isn’t in a well lit neighborhood.
Stogie and adult beverage.
I had flashlight in hand and was ready for this. Was back up in 20 seconds.
My 180 amps or so is 40 kilowatts. All hour.
If I kept this up all month 24/7 my electric bill would be $4320.00
I’ve got about 2000 Watts of light running. Porch lights and all. I am easily the winner on my street. Looks just a bit darker than usual, but certainly not a blackout.
I’d say the folks aren’t all that into it.
But I’m sure I’ve been given some bad eye. Tough.
There are more illuminated homes this year than there were last year.
Happy Human Achievement Day!
10 minutes to go, better get started loading the washer and dryer, porch, lites, deck lites, TVs, puters, printers, oven on 450, thermostat to 90 on the furnace. Going out to watch the meter whizz,
That's significant! I don't think I could get my load much over 110-120 amps. I have a 200 amp service, but I don't have enough electric toys. :>)
I guess they'll have to use the hand crank.
How do you know if your neighbors are participating or plain old Not At Home...
