Bill O’Reilly has lost the United Parcel Service as an advertiser as popular website Think Progress took issue with the FOX News harassment of websites managing editor Amanda Terkel. Think Progress has sent correspondence to all the sponsors of the show with UPS the first pull advertising for the highly rated show "The O’Reilly". UPS sent this letter to ThinkProgress:......

Having once worked in the advertising biz, I find it amusing when sponsors behave as if they're doing a media outlet a huge favor by placing ads with them.

If running ads on BOR had no effectiveness, UPS wouldn't have been running them in the first place.

It's like KMart pompously announcing they will no longer run ads during the Super Bowl because they don't like the play-by-play announcers.

Somehow, I think BOR will survive this.

That was back when K-Mart was considering floating a blimp of Rosie O'Blabbermouth's ass during the Super Bowl, but the idea never came to fruition when it was pointed out that an artificial eclipse of the sun might not be helpful to the players on the field.

FedEx is better. And they have a patriot, conservative and decorated veteran as it's founder and CEO. I live in ATL and know plenty of people at UPS. It's a very strange place - almost cult-ish in some of it's management practices. Their drivers, IMHO, don't seem very happy.

FedEx, on the other hand, is always ranked as one of the better places to work. It's drivers always appear to be enjoying their work and their customer service reflects it.

I don’t care much for Bill and his show but I also don’t like mobs that suppress free speech or political debate. I also don’t like businesses that allow themselves to become ideological tools. I will be looking for alternatives to UPS in the future.

I don’t care for BOR that much, either, but he does attract a following that other conservatives don’t always reach.
