Meghan McCain Poised to Become "New Young Republican," Says The Atlantic

Meghan McCain is a few major media appearances away from being known as the "new young Republican" and voice of moderate conservatism, says the Atlantic Monthly.

We don't know about all that, but it is fun sometimes to follow this local celebrity's life on the Internet.

It turns out that we share an appreciation for ...and You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. Following her post in the Daily Beast earlier this month in which she laments that she can't find the right man, we were relieved to hear the post has resulted in numerous date offers. On her Twitter site, we learned where she's getting her education in economics.

The Atlantic, which is the magazine that got mixed up in the flap between Meghan's dad and renegade photographer Jill Greenberg, reports on McCain's centrist conservative tendencies -- she calls herself a "progressive Republican."

But soft-pedaling doesn't fly so well in today's polarized environment -- right-wing pundit Laura Ingraham says Meghan, 24, is nothing more than a "useful idiot" to liberals who want to divide and conquer their enemies.

Ingraham may have a point. It's hard to tell which party Meghan McCain is helping more.

"She is so “ditzy”! Can’t stand to listen to her.

Between Meghan McCain, Margaret Hoover and Elizabeth Hasselback, I think the GOP has more than there fair share of mousy, bubbly blonds.

Posting derogatory comments about someones weight vice their views merely reflect on the one doing the insulting. At that point your own views become worthless.

Criticize the views, leave personal attacks to the “tolerant” loons of the left.

This is insanity. Where in the world does the hyper-liberal Atlantic get off determining who the "new leaders" of the Republican Party are? We saw this happen already with Michael Steele. The liberal tactic is to build up these so-called "leaders" as the embodiment of the Conservative movement and then tear them down on their obvious flaws in an effort to weaken the opposition. Michael Steele fell into the set trap by D.L. Hughley to start an internecine conflict with Rush Limbaugh, just as Ms. McCain will be hammered on her obvious vapidity and hypocrisy.

“moderate conservatism” = moderate liberalism = liberalism = John McCain

I guess that apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
