These creationist think tank articles are extremely entertaining. They start out with an aggressive subject statement and end up with a “Just like in the bible.....” statement. They also use extensive references from actual legitimate scientific journals - but do not appear to actually read and understand the references.
As a Christian, I’m actually embarrassed for these poor folks - they have so entwined their faith and science that they put impossible strains on their beliefs. But in the end they have to come to the same conclusion as everyone else that uses their highly-evolved (with divine direction) brain and recognize science is the knowledge man has gathered, with the best information we have, and faith is.....well...faith - just as it’s always been.
Oh man, you misunderstand me. I would never disrespect Stone Cold Steve Austin, or any of the proud graduates from his university. Do you think Brian Thomas M.S. knows the Stone Cold Stunner, or is that reserved for Ph.D.s?

Science, of course, in the abstract doesn’t depend on qualifications or degrees, but in today’s world it is almost always the case that the people who are truly moving their fields forward will be PhDs. Does this mean that it’s absolutely impossible for a grad student or perhaps someone of even lesser schooling to happen upon something new or significant? Of course not, but the various fields have been developed to such an extent that it’s highly unlikely that someone who hasn’t reached that level will even be able to understand the current status and open questions of his field well enough to be able to address them.
