Bob Secter and Andrew Zajac of the Chicago Tribune report that, while researching what went at Freddie Mac during the period White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel served on the government sponsored enterprises board of directors, they were unable to get minutes of board meetings and other information:
The Obama administration rejected a Tribune request under the Freedom of Information Act to review Freddie Mac board minutes and correspondence during Emanuels time as a director. The documents, obtained by Falcon for his investigation, were commercial information exempt from disclosure, according to a lawyer for the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
Freddie Mac executives cooked the books, mismanaged the firm, and ultimately drove it into the ground, costing taxpayers billions of dollars. The commercial information exemption is reserved for private companiesFreddie Mac is by no means a private company anymore.
A GOP candidate has zero chance of beating HUSEIN BARAKA in 2012 unless they go for broke and go all Joe McCarthy on the socialist government of the USSA.
Name names, take no prisoners, and destroy the propaganda arm of the left.
That means dirty tricks, enemies lists, and the balls to line up someone against a wall.
Can a Brother get a night in the White House?
There is no record of any Mod action for this thread, so I can’t help you with your question. Sorry.
I originally posted it under News/Activism, selecting Business/Economy, Crime/Corruption, News/CurrentEvents, and FrontPageNews as categories. It was listed on the side bar under Front Page News.
Now there are no categories listed and it is in the Bloggers & Personal section.
I'll go ahead and move this back under news, with the categories you listed. Thanks.
This is another Obama outrage.
The Fannie and Freddie frauds were also exempt from Sarbanes Oxley aka law to stop filing fraudulent financials. This was after Enron and Worldcomm and it has has turned out to be a pretty useless law.
We got us a dictator on our hands. He has unbelievable arrogance. All he has to say is “I won,” and then he does what he wants. Who can/will stand up to him? He’ll have his ‘black’ shirts in place before long, and they’ll take care of any opposition!!
At a top-level meeting with Pelosi and others, Obama complained to Emanuel about Rahm's tendency to loudly crack his knuckles. At which point, The Times reported, Mr. Emanuel held the offending knuckle up to Mr. Obamas left ear and, like an annoying little brother, snapped off a few special cracks.
Rahm's insubordination is breathtaking.....questions aside about the propriety of doing that to ANYONE, much less the President of the United States. Rahm continually tries to overshadow Obama......arrogantly standing with his hands on hips for official pics---to stand out from the crowd. And sends a message----"you guys will have to deal with me--not Obama."
The knuckle episode is illustrative of a seriously disturbed sociopath. Self-aggrandizing Rahm meeds to assure everyone and himself that he's Mr Big. The guy NEEDS to bask in the limelight.....needs constant ego-boosting.
It's nauseasting to think this guy was in our Congress. Watta jerk.......even without his tutu.
Hey Obama, how about some glasnost and perestroika?

The good news is that ammo is flying off the shelf!
No kidding. Outrageous!
“Transparency ... except when it might implicate the White House Chief of Staff?”
Democrats scooped HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS out of Fannie Mae with crooked accounting, either directly:
(Franklin Raines pocketed $100 Million Dollars+!, Jamie Gorelick-$25 Million, Daniel Mudd $12.5 Million, and the list goes on and on and on, reading like a laundry list of connected Democrats sucking at the money pump.)
Or through MILLIONS passed thru to Democrats by “Donations” in the TENS OF MILLIONS to ACORN, the Urban League, Southern Poverty Law Center, etc, etc, etc.
And ALL of it financed by DEMOCRATS cooking Fannie and Freddie’s books to hide the MASSIVE losses...
0bama ordered that...
“”The Government should not keep information confidential merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed, or because of speculative or abstract fears,” Obama said in the FOIA memo, adding later that “In responding to requests under the FOIA, executive branch agencies (agencies) should act promptly and in a spirit of cooperation, recognizing that such agencies are servants of the public.”
His memo on government transparency states that the Obama Administration “will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.” The order directs the yet-to-be-named chief technology officer to work with the OMB director to develop an “Open Government Directive” in the next four months. “
First we have to change minds. There is strength in numbers. People take notice when they can place a face with a movement.
"..Through nearly a dozen hearings, we were frankly trying to fix something that wasnt broke. Mr. Chairman, we do not have a crisis at Freddie Mac, and particularly at Fannie Mae, under the outstanding leadership of Franklin Raines..."
The Obamanites DO NOT want people digging around in the records.
what a waste of perfectly good O2..
