Pot-related questions deluge W.H. By: John Ward Anderson March 26, 2009 12:12 PM EST
When the White House put out a call for town hall questions, they might not have been expecting this.
The more than 92,000 people who responded either have Cheech and Chong senses of humor, or there is a deep concern in America undetected by the media about the decriminalization of marijuana, its possible use for medicinal purposes and its potential as a new source of tax revenue.
Given the opportunity to say whats really on their minds without going through the filter of the mainstream media, people buzzed up a series of questions that seemed to suggest broad interest in legalizing marijuana and taxing it.
In this moment of national economic crisis, the top four questions under the heading of Financial security concerned marijuana; on the budget, people voted up questions about marijuana to positions 1-4; marijuana was in the first and third positions under jobs; people boosted a plug for legalizing marijuana to number two under health care reform. And questions about decriminalizing pot occupied spots 1 and two under green jobs and engery.
It seems part of the popularity of marijuana questions was fueled by NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, which was urging its members to vote for questions supporting the legalization of cannabis.

My neighbors are on the dole, 2 kids, 2 cars, color TV, cable, internet, computers, the constant smell of pot and no jobs!
Looks like we should find a way to get NORML on our side!
Pot heads are so obsessive about legalizing dope.
“It’s good for you man” Yeah right.
Makes you proud to be an American doesn’t it? [/sarc]
And questions about decriminalizing pot occupied spots 1 and two under green jobs and engery.
Well, of course. The stoners are sitting at home in front of their computers, baked, what else are they going to do but spam a poll?

Soros funding the quest for legalization of drugs.
It’s amazing how America’s Spicollis can actually motivate themselves off their parent’s couches to promote drugs. If only the Ron Paul Party got as excited about work.
Yeah I was going to say that Soros is big on the legalization and globalization of drug addiction.
Economy in the crapper and a war going on and the Obama potheads can't get marijuana off their minds. Obama, one would hope, would have the good sense to ignore this nonsense
No wonder it's called "dope."
Hell I even support “decriminalization” but am being driven away from that by the obsessive behavior of those who believe it’s the one issue that will make the world a utopia.
Don’t vote while democrat!
Soros is like a global Mr. Henry F. Potter from Frank Capra’s “It’s A Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart.
He wants to turn the world into Potterville.
It was not even 2 weeks ago that an advocate for legalizing marijuana came to my work asking to sign up volunteers. They’re going door to door now.
Dope is when you run a product, which is in demand, into the underground economy and make a bunch of gangsters rich.
Dope is when you spend $25,000+ a year per criminal to put people in jail for selling dope to dopes.
Dope is when you keep failing but continue to do the same thing year after year.
