About 60 people marched and rallied in Oakland on Wednesday to condemn the police and honor Lovelle Mixon, who was killed by Oakland police after he fatally shot four officers Saturday.
"OPD you can't hide - we charge you with genocide," chanted the demonstrators as they marched along MacArthur Boulevard, near the intersection with 74th Avenue where Mixon, 26, a fugitive parolee, gunned down two motorcycle officers who had pulled him over in a traffic stop. He killed two more officers who tried to capture him where he was hiding in his sister's apartment nearby.
The protest was organized by the Oakland branch of the Uhuru Movement, whose flyers for the march declared, "Stop Police Terror." Many marchers wore T-shirts featuring Mixon's photo, including a woman identified by march organizers as Mixon's mother. The woman declined to comment and gave her name only as Athena.

One person killed is genocide? How many kids did he plan to have??
Uh, yeah it was an “intense manhunt” for an armed serial rapist in that neighborhood. They were in that area patrolling because of that. What’s your point?
They saw someone who fit a general description of the guy. They didn’t have time or were close enough to count his dimples or nose hairs.
They said they identified themselves and told him to freeze, and that he didn’t-
If he had turned away, as they said, what would a spotlight do? Illuminate the back of his head?
They weren’t out to shoot him from the get-go. It seems a tragic series of miscommunications was the cause. I didn’t say the NYPD wasn’t culpable in any way. Diallo didn’t deserve his fate, and it wasn’t his fault if , in fact, he didn’t understand the command. But the fact is, if this guy had stopped and let himself to have been questioned he’d be alive today—unless someone from his ‘hood killed him.
IF there are any left, they'll be putting their lives in jeopardy if they support the police.
In the case of this dirtbag, they were not quick enough.
General description my rear, they had enough witnesses to know this was a person with a pear shaped head. Generally this is seen in a black with a lot of white ancestry. Diallo was a cantaloupe head. That would show from any angle.
Errr, read full article. He reached room temp. prior to reaching jail. Thank God for favors large and small.

Ahhh, I see—the old “pear-shaped head” vs. “cantaloupe head” conundrum—been vexing police since time immemorial.
Maybe an anthropologist, a phrenologist, and a Korean grocer, armed with a calibrated pear and cantaloupe for identification purposes, should be assigned to each NYPD squad car.....
Did you read the comments to the article. Not one supporter of the protest.
The irony here is that the current mayor of Oakland is the very liberal Ron Dellums, a person of enhanced pigment deriving from a sub-Saharan ancestry. I’m certain that he would be the first to join this march except that he would be in a somewhat conflicted ethical state. The Uhurus are like the “Energizer Bunny (tm)”, they are rarin’ to go all of the time and logic is not their point. Another referral to them might be ‘Marchin Morons’! I wonder how many of them are also members of ACORN (or is that a too conservative organization?)
a cop killing, lady pimping, child rapin con... an upstanding member of the community??? They demanded equal respect for him that the cops get??
not the right community if you ask me
the vigil for the cops was much much larger
Staggering isn’t it?First these “neighborhoods” castigate those who would give info to the police about crime IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.Now this?
