You’re telling me that you are not screaming in pain and dying like Diogenesis’ disingenuous link to an article about UK health care in his prior post on this thread suggested?

I was just making the point that Romneycare is not worse than what existed before and is probably better, given the ease with which I was able to obtain individual coverage when I needed to.

The health care system is far from perfect in Massachusetts or elsewhere. Starting in WW2, when employers began offering health care benefits as a way to evade FDR's wage ceilings, we've let health care become more and more insulated from the market. We need to divorce health care from employment (and from government) and make it subject to market forces. That will wring out the inefficiencies and put providers' efforts towards providing real value.
