Bill Kristol holds up for close examination Barack Obamas endorsement of persistence in last nights press conference. Kristol rightly notes that persistence is the wrong go-to approach in addressing an imminent emergency like Iran. But there are larger problems with Obamas announcement that persistence is the new hope. The president said, That whole philosophy of persistence, by the way, is one that Im going to be emphasizing again and again in the months and years to come, as long as I am in this office. Im a big believer in persistence.

Persistance isn’t going to sell well in the polls.
And certainly not two months into an administration.
This speaks to shoring up his base.
In other Democrat news:
Stupid is the new Smart.
Evil is the new Morality.
Slavery is the new Freedom.
Taxation is the new Charity.
And Pain is the new Pleasure>
His entire speech and every answer to the canned questions included a line about not necessarily getting it right the first time and planning to something else to correct the correction sometime in the future.
Each absolutely necessary "investment" in socialist fantasies is already being followed by another and another - that's real persistence.
The one thing that makes him sound like a true democrat politician, disarmingly short of being a total communist stooge, is the promise to do it over again when it fails the first time.
