PRESIDENT OBAMA: Hello, everybody. Please have a seat.
Good evening. Now, before I take questions from the correspondents, I want to give everyone whos watching tonight an update on the steps were taking to move this economy from recession to recovery, and ultimately to prosperity. Now, its important to remember that this crisis didnt happen overnight and it didnt result from any one action or decision. It took many years and many failures to lead us here. And it will take many months and many different solutions to lead us out. There are no quick fixes, and there are no silver bullets.
Thats why weve put in place a comprehensive strategy designed to attack this crisis on all fronts. Its a strategy to create jobs, to help responsible homeowners, to restart lending, and to grow our economy over the long term. And were beginning to see signs of progress.
The first step we took was to pass a recovery plan to jump-start job creation and put money in peoples pockets. And this plans already saved the jobs of teachers and police officers. Its creating construction jobs to rebuild roads and bridges. And yesterday I met with a man whose company is reopening a factory outside of Pittsburgh thats rehiring workers to build some of the most energy-efficient windows in the world.
And this plan will provide a tax cut to 95 percent of all working families that will appear in peoples paychecks by April 1st.
The second step we took was to launch a plan to stabilize the housing market and help responsible homeowners stay in their homes. This plans one reason that mortgage interest rates are now at near- historic lows.

QUESTION: Thank you, Mr. President. A recent report found that as a result of the economic downturn, one in 50 children are now homeless in America. With shelters at full capacity, tent cities are sprouting up across the country.
In passing your stimulus package, you said that help was on the way, but what would you say to these families, especially children, who are sleeping under bridges and in tents across the country?
PRESIDENT OBAMA: Well, the first thing Id say is that Im heartbroken that any child in America is homeless.""
Kevin Chappell of Ebony magazine claims that 2% of American children are homeless and that tent cities are springing up across America.
More damned lies from the Left.
Here’s the transcript:
“Now....”
“Aaannnddd....”
“Duh”
“Hum”
“Um”
“Hmm”
“Mmmm”
“Nnnnn”
“Unnnn”
It may sound repetitious to critics, but really, he’s brilliantly nuanced.
Many years? How about 2 years in particular, you know, since the 2006 takeover by Rats?
Oh, I can hardly wait until tomorrows Limbaugh’s show.
....I WILL USE THE TELEPROMPTER POSITIONED IN THE REAR OF THE ROOM AND ASK FOR SOFT BALL QUESTIONS FROM PREAPPROVED REPORTERS"
I couldn’t get myself to read it very closely, it’s so banal and meaningless. A lot of empty, meaningless talk.
Once again, it seems to have been pre-planned. He has a list of names, and he calls them in that order. I’m not sure if any of the questions took him by surprise. Maybe the one about why he wants to fund fetal stem cell research when adult stem cell research has been much more promising. That seems to have taken him aback.
Yet he wasn't heartbroken when he signed the bill that kicked some poor DC girls out of his daughters’ private school. Imagine if W. Bush had signed such a bill. The poor DC girls would be on every TV show, and the networks would also show the difference between Sidwell Friends’ and whatever DC public school the young DC ladies now have to go back to for their education.
Me too. Should be a hoot.
No nation has ever taxed itself into prosperity.
I'm glad we can at least count on ABC News to seek the really crucial answers to the tough questions on all Americans' minds during these troubled times.
Øbama “we will recover”
.
You mean white folks greed, will once again run a world in need?
His cadence sounded as though he was somehow being fed answers real time.
Let’s start a move to call them “Obamaville”.
We have had a string of bogus “tent cities” around Seattle. they are more about sticking a homeless thumb in suburbia’s eye.
I figure if people start putting “Obamaville” signs in front of them they would dissapear real fast.
Transcript from obama’s news conference.................................................................................... No news here lets move on
It certainly did not sound original but then again I do not believe this turkey can have an original thought.
