Either he doesn’t recognize the fascism right before his eyes because he’s an idiot, or he refuses to recognize the fascism right before his eyes because that recognition would too close to home, ideologically speaking.
Or one other option is that he and others like him embrace a form of fascism as long as it comes from the left.
