All these people against drilling on the pacific shelf should ask themselves what terrible things has drilling in the Gulf Of Mexico done to the ecosystem or economies of the gulf states?

Fish love the oil rigs. The rigs become artificial reefs and attract fish and sport fishermen.

Well, for one thing, the fishing is so fantastic around the rigs we have had a bunch of people move here, we have several fishing tournaments each year that brings thousands of tourists and millions of $ pumped into the local economy, we have many thousands of people who depend on the off shore rigs and local refineries for a living. They pay millions in state income and sales taxes.

Gee, now I see the problem now! Success is no longer to be tolerated!

Besides, Chevron has spent millions to preserve and enhance a wildlife sanctuary on THEIR PRIVATE PROPERTY.

Some of the biggest fish I ever caught were next to offshore rigs.

It's been horrible. My state has a $10.7 billion surplus. I guess that makes us un-American now.

Luke, they cannot and WILL NOT answer those questions. GW is a hoax, they all know it, but it is needed as fact to perpetrate theft on the American citizens, as well as others world wide, in the form of Carbon Credits/Cap and Trade.

That is ALL this is about.

The statists that rule the planet know full well that drilling here and now would knock the economy right back where it belongs in a couple months time. They refuse to allow the economy to thrive.

I can tell you exactly what offshore drilling has done to Louisiana. It has destroyed the ecosystem of the marshes & swamps to the point that even a Cat 1 hurricane will do major damage. 60 years ago the oil companies laid/cris-crossed pipeline throught south Louisiana connecting them to the refineries inland. This literally ripped Louisiana into pieces, tearing up the land & unable to sustain the plant & animal life of the marshes & ecosystem that served as protection from hurricanes. Today Louisiana loses literally 100 yards of land every hour....think about that!
So yes, I think its terrible. What slays me is politicians in NY, NJ, california, Florida, the Carolinas, Alaska, have refused for decades to allow offshore drilling. It’s been the Gulf States who have carried the burden of drilling.
So I say, if it’s OK to drill off the gulf states, why can’t we drill anywhere else????
