I’m with you. My intuition is telling me that people are pushing Sanford because they find Palin not sophisticated enough or too strong on the social issues.

Yep. I have the feeling that some consider Palin to be “broken” by the MSM (or due to her “unsophisticated” background) and think that Sanford would escape such scrutiny. Such thinking is self-defeating. The liberal media will ALWAYS try to destroy any challenge. We have to fight against and past them. I’ll take the real deal, rather than a globull warming hysterical, isolationist, loudmouth.

She’s not that strong on the social issues, I like her, but Sanford is more conservative.

A lot of us may prefer someone who they can relate to as ordinary Americans, and who tells it like it is. People who are sophisticated try to "Sugar Coat" their speech and make nice when they should be ripping the opposition's face off.

Bush tried the nice guy routine, and you see what it got him!

Having an unwed daughter pregnant is ‘too strong on social issues’?!?

My intuition is telling me that smart conservative people have realized that Palin has entered the Quayle-Newt zone of unelectability due to the number done on her by the media and are thinking ahead.

Alternatives like Sanford make sense BECAUSE HE IS ACTUALLY A MORE RELIABLE CONSERVATIVE than any of the alternatives bandied about, including Palin.
