Is Gitmo creating terrorists?
Politico ^ | 3-23-09 | Gary Bauer

Is the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp, erected after Sept. 11 to imprison “the worst of the worst” of America’s enemies, creating terrorists? With Attorney General Eric Holder’s recent announcement that some Gitmo detainees may be released in the U.S., the question has never been more relevant.

After a January Pentagon report found that 61 former detainees had engaged in terrorist activities, several commentators concluded the answer was yes and suggested that conditions at the prison are to blame.

This may surprise you, but as a staunch proponent of the prison, I agree. But while many liberal commentators believe inhumane treatment and religious persecution transforms detainees into suicide bombers and high-level terrorists, I believe the opposite is true: that the unprecedented and extreme religious accommodation granted to Gitmo prisoners has created a culture of Islamic radicalization.

Here’s a thought, perhaps they were terrorists BEFORE they went to Gitmo and should never be released? But noooo, we have to respect their non-existent rights and release them into the US to kill the evil citizens who voted for Bush and resulted in their detention...

Man these people are seriously stupid. I guess it was the Nazi death camps which created the JOOOSSS!

Sure it is, I totally agree with this premise.

So long as you now consider the Democratic Party a Terrorist Organization?

Of course Gitmo is responsible. The poor fellows incarcerated there were captured on battlefields, it’s true. But most were waiting for buses, looking for the local Arbys, searching for a lost golf ball and a whole host of activities utterly unrelated to terrorism. Victims of circumstance, every one.

Do prisons create criminals? Hmmm... How would this work, some sort of mojo floats out the windows and corrupts babies in the womb?

Perhaps the question should not be does America create terrorists, but does Islam create terrorists. Lets see, how many terrorists are Americans and how many are Muslims?

Sheesh, liberals are truely brain dead.

You have a point...sort of.

If idiotic politicians and reporters want to play "Blame anyone but the culprit" game then the Western Powers (FANATICS: insert da Jooooos here) using the punitive Treaty of Versailles and the harsh treatment of Germany after WW1 were ultimately responsible for the death camps, not the "innocent" SS troopers, by the creation of the atmosphere that allowed the rise the Nazi party.

Now Liberal Media, can we get back to reality and blame the criminals for their crimes?

Yeah I’m seriously stupid in my analogy, I just get so peeved at this entire train of thought. This only makes sense if you think gitmo is full of innocent farmers.

I do not buy that in the least, Some real terrorists were released because of the Democrats/MSM posturing. But we must not blame the real culprits, The idiots who started this crap from the very beginning.

Whatever their individual motivations toward terrorism, it’s hardly sensible to release them here.

Of course it depends upon what the definition of terrorist is!

My answer is yes, it created the current DemocRATic party leadership; now they are nonviolent terrorists!

We did not have Gitmo on 9/11 2001.

We were not in Iraq on 9/11 2001.

We were not in Afghanistan on 9/11/2001.

But yet the terrorists attacked us on 9/11/2001. They attacked because they hate our way of life. They attacked us because they hate our freedom. They attacked us because we are against every evil they stand for.

Excellent point! And the gulags created Soviet dissidents.
