My guess is he was very overloaded and either ran out of fuel (doubtful because of the fire) or reduced speed too much for the overweight condition. Just a guess, love planes but don’t fly.

According to what I find on the net this plane is only rated for 9 passengers.I saw that too. Either there's bad information going out, or very small children, "lap babies" perhaps were involved.
