Barney just keeps on costing us
Boston Herald ^ | March 19, 2009 | Michael Graham

“In any other area of American life, this track record would get a man run out of town. In Washington, he’s hailed as a sage whose history of willful error will be forgotten faster than taxpayers can write a check for $200 billion.” - The Wall Street Journal on Rep. Barney Frank, Sept. 9, 2008

The only thing more painful than watching 180 billion tax dollars swirl down the AIG drainpipe is listening to Barney Frank bloviate about it.

I don’t know The World’s Most Expensive Legislator personally, but I hear he’s quite a cut-up at cocktail parties. However, as legislator and politician, he is an unmitigated disaster. Frank combines the economic success of AIG, the business ethics of Enron and the personal accountability of Ruth Madoff.

Frank began his career opposing Reaganomics, an opposition that stubbornly resisted 25 years of nearly constant economic growth. In the 1990s, Frank sat on the Banking Committee regulating Fannie Mae, even as his then-partner, Herb Moses, worked as a Fannie exec.

Is it a coincidence that Frank has been a die-hard advocate for expanding Freddie/Fannie at any cost?

I have wondered for a long time how it is that guys like Frank can get elected time and again. What's wrong with the people in his district?

Can anyone here give me a basic profile of the types who would vote for Barney Frank. After all that has happened to him, I'll bet the voters of his district will return him to power in 2010.

What's wrong with these people? What's wrong with Massachusetts?

Barnie Fwank has a Fannie problem.

The result of his twinkie habit, no doubt.

MA doesn’t have a GOP, that’s a big problem right there.

Term limits are the cure for people like Barney Frank. Too bad it’ll never happen though.

Here’s what I’d like to know. Why do we never hear, not even from conservatives, about Bawney’s long sexual relationship with Herb Moses? I mean, when BOR hounded him in his interview, he never mentioned it. Rush talks about the male prostitution ring operated from his townhouse, but even he never mentions that for, like 10 years, Bawney was boffing the number 3 guy at Fannie Mae. The guy who was actively pushing loans to the unqualified, all the while Bawney was making the laws forcing banks to do it. COME ON! The American people would FREAK if they knew the extent of it.

You ever been to Provincetown out on the Cape? Just like Key West except it’s cold, and they don’t have Jimmy Buffet.

It's good to see there are some sane folks left in Massachusetts. The comments are just as good as the article:

Didnt some one say we need the tools to fix this mess and with Barnyard Frank we have the biggest tool in WA

It’s time to send Bahknee Fwank home to spend more time with the boyfriends. He has caused enough havoc in this country.

Term limits are the cure for people like Barney Frank.

I prefer the type of Term Limits that Vince Flynn wrote about.

Votes don’t matter in MA. Same as Chicago, do you think even half those votes went to the folks who hold office? In Chicago AND Boston, in fact all over both states, you see ads in newspapers all the time to hire activists, read: acorn, community activists coalition, and on and on and on. There has bot been a verifiably legitimate election in MA in YEARS!! Maybe decades. The Mob runs MA.

We do have a GOP, but you are not allowed to know it or see it. When folks run in MA, you must actively search for a party affiliation, usually online, if you want to know which party. Most municipal office are run for without a party affiliation. I have lived in MA for almost 6 years, and it is the most secretive, crazy system I have ever seen in my life.
