An Oakland Police officer shot Saturday during a series of gunbattles that claimed the lives of three other officers died this morning, Oakland police said today.
Motorcycle officer John Hege, 41, had been in grave condition after being shot during a traffic stop at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday. He was pronounced dead at noon today, according to Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason. Hege's fellow motorcycle officer, Sgt. Mark Dunakin, died at the scene of that shooting.
Two hours later, a SWAT team exchanged gunfire with a suspect in an apartment on 74th Avenue near Hillside Street. Two SWAT officers, Sgt. Ervin Romans and Sgt. Daniel Sakai, died in that battle as did the suspect, identified by police as Lovelle Mixon, 26.
A fifth member of the SWAT team was also shot, treated for minor injuries and released.

I can understand the motorcycle cops being ambushed, but how could the POS get two more SWAT officers?
And also the scum that taunted police when they confronted the murderer at his final resting place.
No youre a cop hating POS and you know it. This guy murdered these officers.

I think I read a short comment on one of the news briefs that all that died were shot in the head.
Terrible news any way about it and I feel the pain for the families of those officers killed.
Oakland is a terrible place, I used to live within a couple of blocks of the city limits in Vallejo back around 1986 I think.
And I bet it will become Brownshirt Stormtroopers Headquaters on the west coast.
Waiting for his mother or close relative come out with the: “but he was good boy who loved his mother. He was trying to turn his life around, he was going to start college any day. If the cops would have just left him alone everything would be fine. etc” I would just once have some relative come out and say, “good for the cops, he needed kill’n.”
I mean, the people in Oakland are interested in Truth and Justice, right?

The guy was a guy who was out on parole facing re-incarceration as he had violated his parole...
He shot two cops then when SWAT team members came, he killed two of them before they killed the perp.
In the end, 4 public servants and one maggot are dead.
While investigating the crime scene, black teens were taunting and cursing police officers. The MSM elected to leave that part out.
The perp was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon..so he was no sweetheart. He was already wanted for parole violations and carrying in violation of his parole.
If that is not enough to get him to hell..well I guess initiating a gun fight might.
May he rot in the fires of hell.
Why do you hnate them? they arent ATF or CIA like your type usually attack. They go home to families and to church just like you and often are better men than you.
You really think its your place to get on the net and confront people during a tragic time? Thats the same as casting the first stone, and you know about reaping and sowing.
It is a sad day for law enforcement in Oakland, and nationwide.
Now all the Gun Control Nazis are going to push for more Gun Seizures.....while the real problem is that you have a black criminal, with a criminal history, who should have been put away for a long time.....but the pro-crime liberals and the Criminal Rights Fascists make it harder to punish people anymore.
Hate hearing stories like this...and I hope we dont hear more of these as the illegal alien drug cartels become more common in the US
Let me reply - my son is Deputy Sheriff with Alameda County. And listen up you no good for nothing, these men never had a chance. This was cold blood - period. The firefight in the apartment buidling was more defensive than offensive. So yes, may the cop killer rot in the lower places of hell. Period.
