The last time I remember four CA officers from one agency getting shot and killed on the same day was the CHP Newhall shooting in 1970.
another sad day for law enforcement ion California.

There's a stretch of I-80 from Sacto to Davis that is dedicated to two CHP officers who were killed by a guy named Luis Rodriguez.
I met one of the officer's wives while working on their pool. She was very normal considering what had recently taken place. We talked about what had happened and how losses are so often unpredictable, and I'll never forget how steadfast she was. She was strong and willing to deal with what had been dealt her. Still, I could see a woman who'd just lost her husband of maybe twenty years or so. There was no hiding that fact.
She had some things to take care of, and one was getting rid of a refridgerator, which I gave her fourty bucks for (I think) and hauled away a few days later. Not a lot of help, but a little thing that made moving a bit easier on her. The family was available, but for me it was an honor to lend a hand.
She could have been my big sister, know what I mean?
