I say Faith alone, Scripture alone, Christ alone.
You say something else. That is fine.
You slander God’s written word. You can assert Scripture + Tradition without doing that.
You well should know that many NT texts were written much sooner than you say.
Jesus’s believing (and AUTHORING) the OT is a totally different issue from continuing OT ceremonial laws, which are all fulfilled in Him - which you should know, unless you are an unschooled ass, as you appear to be.
There was NO Bible until 390 AD.
Until that time, the Scriptures were NOT bound in one volume, they consisted of hand written, separate Books.
Those Books had to be rewritten, over and over, due to the aging process.
Very, very few Christians, prior to 390 AD ever, ever saw all the various Books of the current Bible, in their separate forms.
Of course, very few could even read until the last couple of centuries, so they had no NEED to see the Bible, for themselves.
Of course, Paul wrote part of the New Testament, and Paul NEVER saw Jesus, himself, did he? Yet you have no problem believing that Paul's words are from Jesus, from God?
How is it that you can believe that, and not understand that a Catholic believes that the traditions of the Church are a more solid foundation than the few, remaining thoughts of the Apostles?
Not everything Jesus said was captured in writing. That would not be possible.
Not all of the sermons of all of the original Apostles were captured in writing.
What we have is a good guide, as to how we are to live our lives -—
However, the Bible is NOT intended as an historical text.
The Bible is also not intended as a scientific text.
The Editor and Publisher of the first Bible did not intend the Bible for that purpose.
The editor and publisher of the first Bible was the Roman Catholic Church. Every Bible, since 390 AD, draws its roots from the Catholic Church.
Period!
The Bible is NOT necessary for salvation. If it were, why did Christians not have a Bible until 390 AD?
The Bible is NOT necessary for salvation. If it were, what happened to the majority of Christians who were illiterate, and died prior to wide spread literacy?
The Bible is NOT necessary for salvation. If it were, what happened to all of the Christians (All Catholic or Orthodox, at that time, there were no other choices) who died prior to the printing press?
Only the elite, and monks, had access to all of the various books of the Bible, on a regular basis, prior to the Gutenberg press.
You would have no Bible, and no Christian faith would have survived for you to follow, if not for the Catholic Church.
Much of the Christian Faith is passed down by tradition, not by Scripture.
Please be reminded, as well, that Catholics actually practice actual scripture, in the Last Supper, at ever single Catholic Mass.
It is the Protestants who tend to freelance at their services!
(Not that I don't enjoy a good Protestant sermon, but your attacks of the Catholic Church come off as supremely ignorant of history and hypocritical.)
