Barack at Notre Dame? Our Lady Strikes Back!
Fighting Irish Thomas ^ | 03-20-09 | Tom O'Toole

Posted on 03/20/2009 6:49:02 PM PDT by mlizzy

When it comes to evil prophecies (i.e. Obama elected president, AND today's news that the spineless president of my Christian alma mater has indeed secured Barack the Butcher to speak at Our Lady's university), no true prophet likes to be right. However, if even a fraction of my following June 11th, 2008, counter attack comes to pass, I know the Gipper (not to mention Ronald Reagan!) will be happy ... and my prayers will have been answered.

Certainly an ‘in your face’ moment for Religion isn’t it....they might as well have called on Reverend Wright! That said, Commencement Addresses by Communists is pretty much a foregone conclusion at 90% of our universities nowadays, why should ND be any different.!!...and my ND daughter-in-law now finally has something to hold over her Gator husband!

The entire world is upside down.
I used to be a very mainstream guy.
Now, everything I believe in is counter-cultural.
So sad.

Obama is the most pro-murder President, ever.

Pro-abortion, pro-infanticide, pro-ESCR, anti-ASCR, pro-just-plain-murder (of Terry Schiavo).

Man your battle stations: Here's were you can go to fight his thing. OBAMA WILL NOT SPEAK AT NOTRE DAME if we do our jobs.

To protest (and surely, to prevent) this travesty, go HERE, and HERE.

We're already on the march. Our excellent ally, the Cardinal Newman Society, has already launched a well-organized campaign to stop this rubbish from ever happening. HERE ARE YOUR MARCHING ORDERS. Get on task, my friends.

Oh! And by the way, here's a copy of the letter I sent to the President of Notre Dame and the other Big Bugs:

To: president@nd.edu, pmccartan@jonesday.com, mfox@archchicago.org, catholiceducation@usccb.org, ndalumni@nd.edu

Brothers in Christ--

You are not among those who are unlettered, oblivious and unaware.

You know that Barack Obama voted three times --- once on the floor of the Illinois legislature, and twice in committee ----to deny medical assistance and even compassionate palliative care to living, struggling infants unfortunate enough to be born subsequent to an attempted abortion.

You know that Obama's HHS has just rescinded federally regulatory protection of conscience rights for individual and institutional healthcare providers.

You know that Barack Obama is by far the most radical advocate of abortion AND infanticide ever elected to political office in the USA --- both actions condemned by the Second Vatican Council as "abominable crimes."

And this infamous man has now been invited to receive an Honorary Degree in Law from Notre Dame University?

Holy Mother of God!

In a statement adopted in 2004, the USCCB declared, "The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles."

"They should not be given rewards, honors, or platforms."

You would be utter fools to honor Barack Obama merely because he is is President of the United States, he is "historic," he is stylish and powerful, he is one of the great ones of the earth.

You are offending One far greater than he.

Sincerely,

[signed]

P.S. If you well and truly lack the testicular fortitude to do the right thing --- which would be to make a public statement rescinding Barack Obama's invitation due to the fact that he is morally unfit to be given a platform or to receive honors from any Catholic institution --- then you can at least work behind the scenes to "remind" Obama that he "unfortunately has a scheduling conflict" which will "unfortunately" make it impossible for him to attend.

And don't accept Vice President Biden as a substitute, a --- compared to Obama ---trifling, merely "moderately" murder-authorizing Catholic who has already justly been denied platforms, honors, and reception of Holy Communion by the Bishop of Scranton.

BUMP to your letter.

I’m not a Catholic, but this invite from ND is truly disgusting.

It’s not just a catholic thing.

I think a protest is a waste of time. Leaders of the church know exactly what they are doing. It is an attempt to curry favor with the Un-Holy One.

The best protest is to join another church where they teach the values you stand for.

The best plan of action is determine how many other outraged Catholics there are on campus. Get together and threaten to switch schools if he proceeds with this travesty. Petitions don’t do much. Actions speak louder than words.

I think you are scandalized that this ND/Obama crap is soiling the garments of the Bride of Christ, and scandalized with good reason. People rightly expect a lot MORE of the Catholic Church. "Of those to whom more has been given, more will be expected."

But -- pulling back for a moment from this ND/Obama thing -- refocus your attention on the Big Picture: the Culture of Death which is all around us. Find me another Church that gives an explicit and accurate moral critique on the whole gamut: contraception, sterilization, abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, suicide, relativistic medical ethics, homosexuality, torture, slavery, terrorism, unjust war, WMD's, holocaust: it is the Catholic Church alone that opposes all these evils and sees the connections between them.

Name one global leader other than the Pope who has articulated a coherent moral teaching on these issues. Name one humanly-authored document other than the Catechism of the Catholic Church which offers Christ-centered scope and depth on every single interrelated moral and ethical challenge, from the personal to the global.

I am so glad I am in the Catholic Church, which teaches that right is right and wrong is wrong, and teaches with authority, "not like the scribes." Nothing wrong with the teaching, my friend. The problem is (as always) with the many who reject the teaching.

Now think of the issue of so-called believers' political involvement in abortion. Everybody knows there are self-described "Catholic" politicoes involved, because as of posting time some 32 Catholic bishops have told such individuals that they should not come forward to receive Holy Communion without confession and repentance.

But what of the 292 members of Congress who are Protestant? Who knows how many Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Lutheran, or non-denom "Christian" legislators are voting pro-abortion? Nobody has ever tallied up an answer to that question: not in 2009, not in ANY year since abortion has been legal.

Nor have I heard of any -- any --church, other than the Catholic Church, which has attempted to publically discipline its members who are political supporters of these "socially acceptable" forms of perversion and murder.

Think about that.

There is a battle raging. Christ told Peter that "Upon This Rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it"; He didn't say it would be without a fight. Every one of us has to take up whatever weapons he has been given, spiritual and temporal, by the Spirit Who is Lord and Giver of Life, by the precept and example of Christ, and fight.

Good point there, NYer: what's needed is a pull-out of students, faculty, and donors. But even as feeble a thing as a petition is a good organizing tool, in that it identifies prolife supporters, including among the students, faculty, alumni, and donors, raises publicity and cash, and fuels further action.

It doesn't "end" with a petition. It "begins" there.

Well put. I am confident that the Truth is being conveyed with authority, whether anyone else believes it or not. But of course, millions do, without reservation ... if not without saying, “Huh, what was that? Well, okay ...”

Even now you wail in sorrow of how it is breaking bread, no not just breaking bread, but sleeping with a blood drunk harlot. A harlot who is drunk on the blood of the unborn dead.

Granting to this harlot a seat with St. Peter.

Woe unto thee who breaks bread with the blood stained harlot.
