“Considerably less wealthy and less powerful” These are your words, what is freedom worth to you? At what point do you stop fretting your pocket book, and demand your freedom? This was the very question our founding fathers asked. I only hope and pray we can do as well.
I believe I've read that thirty percent of the military claims Democrat affiliation. I've known at least a couple of former military (one Marine, one SEAL) that are Democrats. It's not out of the question, IMHO. Remember that many of the officers at the highest level are politicians, not warriors or even patriots (sorry if that stings, but think of Colin Powell).
Same here. Fat chance of that actually happening. As my buddy always says "All them ticks and no dog? Ain't never gonna happen".
And anyone who thinks the military would wholeheartedly support this corrupt government is wrong. I have nephews in the army right now that would come home and stand with thier families right now, and I’ll bet many others would too.
The above quote from a thug encourager should give us greater pause than the drone-like enforcer, piano-wire comment.
As Fwank's comment came on the heels of mention of the piano-wire death threat, it may be considered all-the-more caustic, as it suggests things in line with and yet beyond the original piano-wire comment.

I missed this, who said it and when and why?
Egads—who offered that gem?
Of course. Then Obama can play Abraham Lincoln for real.....and Nancy Pelosi can play Scarlet O'Hara to Harry Reid's Rhett Butler.

I do agree that voting is (hopefully) to end this mistake.
But, if all else fails, remember whose kids it is in the military.Sure, some would blindly follow any orders given them, I know some personally that would not. Most of the military already doesn’t like Zero. These boys aren’t going to shoot at momma in support of him. If they are no smarter than that, all is lost anyway and there is nothing here worth fighting for.
Obamaramas own words described a civilian national force funding larger than DOD. It will take a year to do that, at least. The wheels are in motion. If given a choice of reenlsting in the civilian force or hitting the bricks, some active duty will take the new Civilian Commie Corps. But, most will not, IMHO. I am retired USN and work with the USN as a contractor. These young men and women can still be trusted and will do what is right.
I was talking to one of the other contractors yesterday, he enlisted after 911 and is now working as a contractor too. Where did the time go? He has already done his tour, got out, has a great job, and is training our command USN shooting team skills.
I didn’t look at all the replies, but take a look at this.
I wouldn’t say smarter, I would say more affluent. I cannot pick up and move my family to Costa Rica. I do not have the resources to do that or the desire to leave the rest of my extended family in the lurch. I have an emergency plan to escape a large city to more isolated climes, but leaving the country is not an option for me.
Yep, though hopefully not in that order.
It did occur to me afterward that perhaps a disclaimer might be appropriate.
"In that order" would be OK, as long as there's a decent interval between.
Reloading is the kind of thing that really needs to be done "stone cold sober".
Thank you!
Major Richard Winters.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't count on that.
A few weeks ago there was a "Fox News Opinion Dynamics Poll" (or something similar to that name) that showed well over 50% of those polled thought the government had an obligation to provide universal health care, food, housing and jobs.
