He garnered the majority of Catholic votes in the 2008 election, but a number of Catholic groups now say President Obama is showing a complete lack of regard for their beliefs. They count his decisions to lift restrictions on abortion and stem cell research among the most offensive. "As far as the Catholic church goes, there's no bigger priority for Catholics than human dignity and human life," said Cathy Ruse, senior fellow at the Family Research Council said. "And the Obama administration has just been an assault on those values again and again in just two months."

My elderly, devout Catholic, Republican-hating parents eagerly cast their votes for abortion-champion Obama. I’ve talked to them until I’m blue in the face about how Republicans are the party that is anti-abortion and pro-religion. It does no good. What people have to understand is there are millions of people like my parents who have mentally never progressed past Roosevelt and the New Deal. They still believe Democrats “are for fairness and care about the little people” and Republicans “are the party of the rich and want to keep all the money for themselves.” It’s impossible to convince them.
And again I ask you, "Do you at least not find it passing strange that a majority of voting American Catholics gave their vote to Obama?"
Instead of taking me to task for a certain politically incorrect piquance of phrase, why not devote yourself to finding out why a majority of your co-religionists would vote for an avowed abortionist, who campaigned throughout Kenya for a man who urged his followers to burn Christians alive in their churches, and whose intellectual mentor is a terrorist bomber?
My words hurt? Excellent! Instead of brooding about it, in the style of an "offended Civil rights leader," why not work within your church to figure out why and how this is happening. Where is your immediate protest when Ted Kennedy sashays his fat abortionist ass up to the altar rail for communion, along with many another Catholic "choice" politician?
But take heart, crusader. Your church, although the activities of its communicants are most at variance with its stated beliefs, is certainly not alone. A much bigger majority among the Jews voted for this man, whose stated aim is to end the Jewish state of Israel.
Yep, and they weren’t happy with me when I asked one of them how he, as a born again believer, could vote for a pro-choice candidate who wanted to kill babies and steal his money. Whew.
The Catholics that voted for Obama weren’t thinking about the infanticide and the Nazi-like experimention on embyonic stem cells. Shame on them.
It’s not just Catholics, Drift....it’s most Jews, some Evangelicals, and so on. The delusion has been sent - and it is very strong.
They helped elect a new messiah
While it would be great to have another Reagan, I believe that GOD is stripping away all the things we have put our faith in - our party, military strength, our money, our job, etc. In these last days He is giving us no excuse - while He calls out the last that will be in The Body. Those who cling to the temporal and temporary will be sorely disappointed....
I’m sorry, but they had to be idiots to vote for him in the first place! How could a good catholic vote for a man who doesn’t want to punish women with a baby!
Claire McCaskill is a member of my Catholic parish...what a freakin' joke...apparently all you have to do is donate a lot of money and you can claim to be Catholic...even when running for the US Senate.

Multiple stories. Including the American Spectator below which is a known conservative publication.

Liberal priests and liberal bishops in the AMERICAN Catholic Church, doing Satan’s work, helped to get the Muslim elected so he could kill babies.
But when everyone seems to quote about the same, you should listen. I know you don’t want to believe it, Petronski, but maybe it’s the truth.
If a thousand people quote bad information to me, it is not made more true by popularity.
Is that your standard for truth?
Those words don't hurt me.
They hurt you. They are a window to your soul.
My friend, a majority of those with whom you pray have signed on to a program that is diametrically opposed to what your church teaches. Words cannot hurt them, or you. But they have hurt the country that has allowed them to flourish.
Uh, no.
...a majority of those with whom you pray have signed on to a program that is diametrically opposed to what your church teaches.
You claim that, but you can't prove it.
Words cannot hurt them, or you.
I have already said that your words hurt only you. They provide a window to your soul:
...rosary-rattling retards...
I understand your zeal for Catholicism but sometimes you just have to put that aside and see some truth when people find it and relate it to you.
It isn't truth. It's a mainstream-media exit poll.
Some folks like to believe it because it makes the Catholic Church look bad. Like to believe it, want to believe it, want to crow about it, want to pretend it isn't a non-scientific poll from an unfriendly source.
WHo cares what the pope thinks of them. What does Christ think of them? (those that acknowledge and follow Him anyway)
I was at a catholic mass for my cousin;s baptism in a very conservative suburb. Had it not been my cousins baptism, I would have walked out. The whole service (this was just prior to the election) was a campaign add for Obama. Hope and change and the whole bit. I have no idea what is taught from catholic pulpits week in and week out, but if this was an example, I am not surprised that catholics went for Obama.
I have a dear friend who is catholic and is truly saved and tries to follow Christ. She is a rabid liberal and feels the social gospel outweighs abortion and life issues. Our friendship almost ended prior to the election when I told her I couldn’t believe the venom coming out of her mouth directed at conservatives. My (admittedly limited) experience with catholics is they are quite liberal both in their pulpits and in their ideology.
