This is a man who never had a father, whose mother was an itinerate hippy. He has no internal compass and no interest in anything other than himself and being noticed. I have great faith that the American people will start to notice that the emperor has no clothes.
Why don’t I believe him?
That he believes it will recover no matter how badly he abuses it is part of the problem. It’s like giving a kid a toy and telling them “It’s unbreakable.” The first thing they try to do is break it and often they succeed.

With what money did he use to make such a guarantee?..

And to top it off, he’s making the same ridiculous campaign promises, knowing he can’t keep them.

... Americans just might have to live through several hundred years of another 'Dark Ages' era before whatever society replaces the United States of America finally rises and gives birth to this new economy Obama speaks of, however.
That ought to be right around the time that new society's archaeologists discover the remains of our culture like lost citizens of Pompeii, only with us wearing hockey gear, rabbit pelts, and our skeletons found in poses as if we were strangling one another as we were being covered by volcanic ash.
