I have no idea if he’s really her “top PR adviser” or anything of the sort, but if you don’t understand why it would be a problem for her to hire a Scientologist for such a position, you urgently need to read up on Scientology. It’s a sophisticated and ruthless organized crime network, and any politician who would knowingly hire a member of it, belongs at the top of the “do not vote for” list. Palin is certainly naive enough to UNknowingly hire a Scientologist, and if that’s what happened, I expect he’ll be her ex-PR adviser very, very soon.
I know a lot more about $cientology than you can imagine, but I also believe in the individual and I know individual motivations trump whatever the group may believe. This is not a religious position (and you are right, ‘top’ PR may be wrong, it isn’t specified).. The key is choosing the best individual for the job, I trust her judgment and his reputation in this.
