Obama's first judicial pick...a pro-abortion liberal

Well, we can't say we didn't see this one coming...or that real conservatives everywhere didn't warn all their friends before they voted for this guy last November...but here we are.

Obama first federal judicial pick is judge David Hamilton, and is the nominee for the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals...and surprise, he's a pro-abortion liberal.

"President Barack Obama has nominated his first pro-abortion judicial candidate as he named David Hamilton as his first Appeals Court nominee. Hamilton is a former Clinton nominee whom Obama has appointed to serve on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals."

"Hamilton was initially appointed by President Clinton to a district judgeship in Indiana in 1994 even though the ABA gave him a “not qualified” rating."

"In that position, Hamilton issued a series of rulings over seven years that prevented Indiana from implementing its informed consent law that would give women information about abortion's risks and alternatives."

And it gets better. This guy was overruled and taken to task by the very court Obama wants to put him on, leading them to state:

"For seven years Indiana has been prevented from enforcing a statute materially identical to a law held valid by the Supreme Court in Casey, by this court in Karlin, and by the fifth circuit in Barnes," the appeals judges wrote in their decision.

"No court anywhere in the country (other than one district judge in Indiana [i.e., Hamilton]) has held any similar law invalid in the years since Casey," they added. "[I]t is an abuse of discretion for a district judge to issue a pre-enforcement injunction while the effects of the law (and reasons for those effects) are open to debate."

Yep, that's just the kind of guy that should get promoted.

Keep in mind that Appeals Court members are just below the Supreme Court. And it's telling that Obama would start filling vacancies on the Appeals Court first, instead of lower district courts. I say "telling" because it pretty much means he wants to get as many of "his" guys on the Appeals Courts before any vacancies pop up on the US Supreme Court...which could happen anytime, given that 5 of them are over 70 years old.

Wait a stinking minute.

A pro-abortion liberal, isn’t that just repeating yourself?

I mean has anyone ever heard of a pro-life liberal?

Well we do have pro-abortion conservatives don’t we, RNC Chair Steele, Juan Mccain.

If the ABA rates a liberal "Not Qualified" he is probably unable to read anything more difficult than a comic book.

The ABA is very political and would rate a liberal judge at least "Qualified" if they figured lightning wouldn't strike them dead where they stand for doing it.

What a bunch of BS by the ABA if that’s true. David’s political views are 180 degrees from mine—he is ultra liberal—but he is one of the smartest, best-educated lawyers I know. Very high integrity. I grew up with him and practiced against him. While it is true that the Seventh Circuit just got a whole lot more liberal, he is as qualified as they come.

Newly appointed Judge Death O’Reaper from Chicago thanked President Obortion for the appointment, and stated: “with 40% of the babies in America born to unwed mothers, we obviously need to expand the mandatory application of embryonic stem cell research to the 40% of unmarried women being punished by babies.”

Why is everyone having so much trouble pinning down zero’s “faith”? Stuff like this makes it pretty obvious.
