Fritzl pleads guilty to ALL charges as he tells court: 'My daughter's evidence...."

Josef Fritzl was today facing the prospect of dying in prison after he dramatically pleaded guilty to all the charges against him, including the murder of his own son.

His change of heart was prompted by his daughter's harrowing evidence of how she was held captive for 24 years, repeatedly raped and had seven of her father's children.

The 73-year-old told a stunned court in St Poelten, Austria, this morning that he now admitted all the charges, including murder and slavery.

Asked why he had changed his plea, Fritzl told the panel of judges: 'When I saw the video tapes I realised for the first time how cruel I was to Elisabeth.'

The trial was always going to be an academic exercise given the overwhelming evidence and the depth of his depravity but unfortunately it means many questions may go unanswered since he will likely never be compelled to answer any of them.

Was it truly remorse? How can this monster conjure up any remorse after the last quarter of a century? More likely it was a desperate ploy by his attorney to avoid any more damning evidence coming forth since the case against his client is airtight.

Huh? If the case is "airtight" already, why would his lawyer be concerned about more evidence? Do you want a guilty man to plead not guilty just so the public can see more creepy details of his crimes?

No I’m saying the outcome is a fait accompli especially in light of the fact that a 73 year old man sentenced to 20 years in prison will likely die behind bars.

I don’t think either Fritzl or his lawyer want any more evidence shown period, his so-called remorse notwithstanding.

His remorse or lack thereof should be legally irrelevant. Since Europe is too Special to have executions, he needs to go to jail until he dies. For the sake of his soul, I hope he truly repents, but taking that into account legally would be insane.

What is now being reported, in small font, about daughter Elisabeth unexpectdly attending the court session yesterday, not only contradicts the previous official version that "only a video tape with her testimony was shown", but also immediately reveals an additional reason for having the process behind close bars: censoring the real suffering of Fritzl's victims is even more important to market the "good monster" than the techniques previously described.

As for the sentence, again the mind control technique of "Package v Contents" is used: headlines of "life sentence in prison" while in reality he is sentenced to "therapy" in an "Abteilung" (different from a normal prison), expecting to be legally freed after 14 years (one year in prison since the revelation is included in the15 years term that life sentences translate into), and in fact in the script he is to be released after 2 or 3 years, under the guise of "successful therapy and age"...
