China Hopes Climate Deal Omits Exports
Wash Post ^ | March 17, 2009

Countries importing Chinese goods should be responsible for the heat-trapping gases released during manufacturing, a top Chinese official said yesterday. Li Gao, China's top climate negotiator, said any fair international agreement to curb the gases blamed for global warming would not require China to reduce emissions caused by goods manufactured to meet demand elsewhere. China has surpassed the United States as the world's largest emitter of greenhouse gases. But 15 to 25 percent of its emissions are generated by manufacturing goods for export, Li said.

"As one of the developing countries, we are at the low end of the production line for the global economy. We produce products, and these products are consumed by other countries. . . . This share of emissions should be taken by the consumers, but not the producers," Li said in Washington.....

So here is a way to be all for the Kyoto nonsense without having to pay for it. Inscrutable, indeed. An I am sure the BO administration will find this very reasonable.

We have to play by environmental rules in our manufacturing processes, which makes our goods more expensive.

Time for the Chinese to play by the same rules, or we will have to charge them a tariff to import their crap. Fair enough?

>> China has surpassed the United States as the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases.

Yeah, the drive-by media have reported this non-stop.

NOT!!!!

The way the greenies treat China is proof positive that they don’t REALLY care about the environment. They care only about bankrupting the west, particularly the US, and siphoning off dough to advance their leftist agenda through climate fraud.

Hey Algore, if you really care about so-called global warming, get your fat ass on a plane and go to Beijing and give one of your windbag speeches.

The Washington Post reported this today at the bottom of an inside page, in a little bitty four-inch story, squeezed up against a big ad. You can just hear the discussion at the news budget meeting: we don’t want to publish this, but we might get caught not publishing it, so let’s hide it. However, last weekend they actually identified a person arrested for murder as an “illegal alien.” I nearly choked on my coffee.

He doesn't make a very strong argument as that would pave the way for others to do the same. Rather, he should have stressed China's per capita carbon emissions. This is a very important point as all countries cannot be measured in the same way. Which, in that case, China would have considerably more leeway if their per capita was taken into account.
