The Consumer Products Safety Commission's new rules about lead content are putting a lot of eBay sellers and thrift stores out of business. But the rules cover any sales by anyone, including person-to-person, private sales, like a yard sale.
If you sell a used item, that was produced before mandatory lead testing began, and it contains any lead (eg - the ink in pre-1985 children's books, contains lead), you could go to jail.
Welcome to the new Amerika For The Children, Comrade Kim.
It occurs to me that the older children’s books might carry more traditional values, less deviance, and less diversity. What better way to stealthily force us into politically correct book choices than banishing the older books under the cover of consumer protection.
