Rumor has it that it's good etiquette to ping other Freepers you talk about, if you're talking about them publicly.

If I mention someone else in a post I almost always ping them. [I have forgotten every now and again, but never forget to ping if it is a challenge. ] It’s just good freeper etiquette.
