There is nothing derogatory about Laura's comment. Nothing wrong with being plus-size. Are we supposed to pretend Meghan is skinny? This is out of “1984.” Meghan is the one who started attacking Ann and Conservatives. And I would not call Meghan a Republican since she voted for Kerry and her father made sure the GOP would lose.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with being plus size (unless it affects one's health). However, to describe someone as "too plus-sized" to be a cast member of a hip TV show where everyone is young and very attractive is most certainly an insult IMO.

It doesn't matter to me that Meghan "started it." I would hope that Laura would have the class not to respond in this way.
