You are absolutely right. The only reason many would have supported Romney is that he was the candidate mostly likely to beat Obama. It never occurred to me McCain could win - and surely most of the posters here never believe this.
I agree Romney would have been better than Obama. No comparison. Only a staunch Democrat/Socialist would think otherwise. We have Obama's fumbling, his tax-evading cabinet picks, and his outrageous treatment of Brown.
Then there is the questions of his birth certificate. He could easily put an end to the speculations. Why won't he?

Romney could not have been better than Obama
because Mitt "The Myth" Romney WAS the pre-Obama
clearing the way for socialized medicine, the end of marriage,
and endless billion dollar coverups supported on the federal teat.

Fascist Dictator Mitt Romney chortles as he inflicts socialized medicine (HillaryCARE=ROmneyCARE)
upon Massachusetts citizens without a single vote.
Sen. John Kerry to Don Imus on RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE: "I like this health care bill".
(Then) Sen. Hillary Clinton on RomneyCARE=HillaryCARE: "To come up with a bipartisan plan in this polarized environment is commendable."
To: Diogenesis
What a silly post. I don't particularly care for Romney. Yet I feel obligated to defend him against nonsense. Although he is not nearly what I would like from a politician regarding illegal aliens, etc., he is far more conservative than Obama. Not even close.
Of course, groups such as the pro-choice organizations, Planned Parenthood, La Raza, and ACORN would take Obama any time over Romney. I am merely saying that from a conservative point of view Romney would have been far better than Obama and he would have defeated Obama. Only some as flawed as McCain would have lead lost to that empty suit.

I agree with you that Romney is far better than Obama politically speaking.
Of course McCain would have been far better as well, so it is all a matter of degrees.
I do not agree he could have beaten him.

Here we go again... Yep. Can't we try a conservative next time around? We haven't had one since Reagan.
RINOs haven't done our country much good. And Romney is a classic RINO.
