It is a true shame than an innocent (presumption withstanding) was injured. So long as they are not a threat, I wish no ill will on misguided opponents.
But, such are the risks of inserting yourself into a war zone — particularly when you choose the wrong side.

Entering a war zone is a risky act.
That’s correct.
Do an internet search of the phrase ‘Benjamin Linder’.
Now here was a guy who interjected himself into a conflict and got killed for doing it.
And his family and friends decided that it was the fault of the Reagan Administration and not Mr Linder’s decision to enter into an area where combat operations had occurred and to carry a rifle.
He chose to play stupid games in a war zone no less and his friends & family are surprised that he wins a stupid prize.
