Opposition is growing today in Minnesota to allowing 1970s terror figure Sara Jane Olson to return home to St. Paul after she completes her seven-year prison sentence Tuesday in California for attempting to kill police officers and participating in a murderous bank robbery.
State Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen, R-Alexandria, and a counterpart in the Minnesota House, Laura Brod, R-New Prague, are preparing a resolution for introduction today that urges California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to require Olson to serve her parole in California.
"This woman was involved in a very cowardly act of domestic terrorism," Ingebrigtsen said this morning. "After 25 years of eluding the authorities ... we need to send a strong message that we simply don't want this person back here until her sentence is totally satisfied."
Last week, the St. Paul police union sent a letter asking Schwarzenegger to require that she serve her parole there. The Los Angeles police union has made the same demand.

Send her to GITMO, never mind she’d have more rights.
Let her live in Washington D.C., Detroit, or New Orleans.
“We might take a couple of the Guantanamo detainees off your hands, but not this woman who was living a quiet life as a soccer mom in Suburbia, no way...”
Send her to Chicago. They like Domestic Terrorists.
What are you thinking????????????
All criminals are now “terrorists”, except for AQ, of course.
Her “crimes” were not simple criminal acts.
Certainly not this woman who changed her name and hid for years to avoid prosecution and run away from her crimes.
Tell me you’re missing a sarc tag, please.
I apologize, I thought it was self evident.
Thanks! I had hoped so ... the Red Star’s comment pages have more than a few people who could use a talking-to.
even if she converted to Islam in prison and changed her name to something somalian.? gees.. rough crowd. ;-)
I’ll be glad to let her stay on my property.
In fact, I’ll start digging the shallow grave this afternoon....
Charlie Manson was not called a “terrorist” back in the 70’s, even though his crimes were heinous.
State Sen. Bill Ingebrigtsen, R-Alexandria, and a counterpart in the Minnesota House, Laura Brod, R-New Prague, are preparing a resolution for introduction today that urges California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to require Olson to serve her parole in California.
It takes Republicans to bring up concerning issues however sadly enough, we historically and presently a DFL run government here.
Welcome back (I'm sure) will be in order for SJO.
Yeah, we’re all waiting for Keith Ellison to poke his nose into this one......
You want her? You may have her.
If he does then perhaps a "zapper collar" for her with the 5th district as the boundary would be appropriate then.
No thanks. The left coast can keep her. The illegals keep me occupied here.
I was just pointing out the current trend of labeling serious criminals as terrorists.
She was labeled a terrorist in the 70’s......
