Good post!
I’m a bookmark.
This organization seems redundant. My son is serving in the Marine and expects to be deployd to Afghanistan this summer. He has sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution. He knows what his duties are and what would be an illegal order. He certainly doesn’t need to join some organization to figure that out. So, this sounds like a lot of horse hockey to me.
Thank you I have been afraid to ask as many people are committed to their organized faith - and while I envy them, I am not.
I do however, believe in God and my salvation rests with that belief.
Thank you for your response to my question.
Somehow we seem to be promoting exclusion to some people who are not currently practicing religion within an organized group and I cannot wrap my head around the fact the political belief is best guided by our God but not necessarily a formal religious organization.
It has always held me back in fully giving myself to the Conservative movement thinking I was a misguided interloper.
Yep. Pretty much.
I hope you will no longer hesitate. Join the
conservative swamp. There are all kinds of
biting, snapping critters in here with one
thing in common... our loyalty to God (in
whatever form of worship you choose), and the
United States Constitution.
The hard part is keeping the stealth dividers out.
Fortunately they are easy to spot, because they can
always find the problem.
UNITE OR DIE!
Don't get me wrong, I know his emphasis is on how we should behave - taking into account 9/12 items. I'm all for that - but he's preaching to the choir. In other words, while conservatives live with honor and attempt to do the right things, our government lives in dishonor and isn't doing the right things.
IOW, we can do all of that, but they are unrepentant and openly destroying the nation. The GB program gave no plan or strategy or idea relative to that....and that, my friends, is the issue.
“...as long as they are legal...” Very important point.
To order violation of the constitution is illegal, and therefore an unlawful order. You should read it. I take it the “USN” stands for United States Navy. If so, you took the oath. You should understand it better. It is not “to civilian leadership” but to the laws of this land, the Constitution is the foundation of these laws.
Alas, you are right sir.
It’s not just a few who have hijacked the nation.
The very core values of the American people are
corrupt and decayed. Glenn Beck is trying to start
a radical change in our character. For that he is
a hero. I’m not expecting a huge todo list. I’m
satisfied with the goal of transforming our souls.
With our character and values restored, what we are
to do will become obvious. Hopefully it will lead
to saving our blessed Republic.
UNITE OR DIE!
I would agree (and have been saying all along) that the problem is our fellow countrymen. And, there is only One Who can transform souls. However, He doesn’t transform the souls of those to whom He has sent a strong delusion.
For those whom God has placed a veil of confusion,
we cannot battle. But for the rest we are commanded
to “go into all the world, making disciples of ALL
men”. (Matthew 18)
We have lost “The Way”. Glenn Beck is pointing to Him!
UNITE OR DIE!
Please God. Revive us one more time.
“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.” - Benjamin Franklin
So then, let us be capable. If we are not, then I believe I can see our new masters already.
Nos Vado Una
Is that what Glenn is trying to do? I heard him talk about principle #2 as a generic god that people can agree to. Ours is not a 12-step deity who cannot save.
Any step toward submitting to the authority of our
Creator God as the center of our lives is a good step.
Whatever it takes... twelve steps or baby steps ...
we must find our way back to the Cross of Christ.
Glenn’s 912 Project heads us in the right direction.
Let’s vow to be stepping stones, rather than stumbling
blocks.
First I don't need you to tell me about my obligations. Second, it isn't the job of any "Oath Keepers" to decide the constitutionality of a law. Laws are written by Congress, signed by the President. Their constitutionality is judged by the judiciary. Those are the checks and balances provided for in the Constitution. It is far from a perfect system. Mistakes like Kelo and Dred Scott still happen.
I still can't seem to recall the article in the Constitution that gives some group of present and past military and police authority to overide all other sections of the government. Maybe you could enlighten me.
Do you know who is running this “group?”
To answer your question: Even if this was run by somebody more mainstream I would be opposed to it. I don't agree in wrapping oneself in the Constitution and then taking on powers not granted by the Constitution.
