“No offense to any very mature 20 somethings here, but most people at this age are still forming their political beliefs.”

No offense taken... ;)

I could not wait to vote for Ronald Reagan at the “tender” age of 18. I turned 18 in May of 1980. I was ecstatic at being able to vote for Reagan. I remember going home that day and watching the news coverage. It was awesome to watch Reagan beat Jimmah.

I may be somewhat out of the mainstream as I had my first paying job at 13 and I had my drives license at 14 (hardship license in Texas). I was raised around my Grandfather who was very conservative and blind. I used to drive him and my Grandmother to the poles and help him vote. He never missed an election up until the year before he died.

He instilled in me that voting is more than a right it's a solemn duty and obligation. We must take it very seriously and we must protect our republic. I am proud to say I have never missed an election!

Sorry for waxing nostalgic but coincidentally today is my Grandfather's birthday. March 15h 1908

I’m with you. When I was 10 I asked my mother(you’re going to love this one)”Why doesn’t the government pay for everything?”
. Wow, was I ripped, both by her and my stepfather. Both of them only had HS educations(but Mom’s IQ was 148)and my stepfather wasn’t really very smart, but a good man in his way. I learned that day that the government doesn’t have any money, it is all taxpayers money, that they can’t generate wealth and the only way the government has of getting money is to steal it from the taxpayers. I started paying attention to politics and although I was older than you when Reagen was Elected, I felt the same joy and elation. Who could guess that about 30 years later we would be so far down the road to communism!(Actually I did figure it out when Bush Senior was elected, a RINO through and through.
