Two months into his presidency, it is far too soon to make any judgments about Barack Obama's prospects.
All we really know is that he has assembled the rudiments of an administration and launched a batch of ambitious but unproven initiatives.

This is truly a ridiculous administration that should be an embarrassment to every American. We are getting our wakeup call daily!
And we can be sure the jihadists are watching...
Broder is not the only liberal to express these concerns. It’s going to be interesting.
The honeymoon will not be over until we the sheeple quit getting screwed by Balack Obamie.
The Chicago-Illinois miracle is becoming unglued.
Since the liberals have their solid majority, we can only hope to sow seeds of dissent among the blue dogs who have to face their constituents next year.
President Obama may have another month to push legislation through before this revolt among his own party takes place.
I don’t know who will snatch up the position of Superintendent of Unicorn Rides through the Gumdrop Forest but a lot of hippies are getting impatient.
I agree that the meltdown has already started. All the signs are there. But a big and spectacular showy meltdown, perhaps on national TV, is brewing and just right around the corner. Something that makes everyone (MSM, liberls, Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives) all go... OMG he’s lost it.
I saw the something like the following on a tag line:
Obama is no Messiah. The Messiah was a carpenter and could build a cabinet.
Now America finds itself "married" to an abusive, dishonest, incompetent control freak, with no skills other than his "charm"--and that is fading fast.
My parents warned me about this.
That is a fact. Just take the fact that Bush received massive amounts of criticism at every turn, but Obozo started crying like a little baby when someone made fun of his dumbo ears.
Bush ignored all the criticism and did his job. Obozo goes on the offensive against Rush. Why? Cause he can't stand the heat and should just get out of the kitchen.
And may I add that Obozo wants to bill Disabled Vet's private insurance for wounds received at war? If he does that, we should charge him rent for the White House.
One gets the feeling that Broder is beginning to be a little bit uneasy about whom he as Dean of the Washington press corps and his henchmen have done so much to install in power over the American people:
Meantime, on the main challenge -- the economy -- the criticism has begun to infect the mainstream media as well as the conservative wing. I was struck last week to read heartfelt pleas to Obama from my Post colleague David Ignatius and David Brooks of the New York Times to get his priorities straightand concentrate on the crucial task of rescuing banking, credit, housing and jobs.
These are people who deeply admire and respect Obama and wish him nothing but success. But, like some thoughtful congressional Democrats with whom I have spoken, they worry that he has bitten off more than he can chew. (emphasis mine)
One gets the feeling that Broder is writing in code here. The "heartfelt pleas" to get "priorities straight" sounds to me like code for "get back on the reservation and behave like a decent liberal." Stop "biting off more than you can chew" sounds like, "socialize the country only at a decent and measured rate. Stop accumulating power and stop overturning our system." A bitter conservative might add, stop behaving like Saul Alinsky and start behaving like our "Magic Negro."
As a confirmed establishment liberal, Broder must be careful to stay within the bounds of decent liberal discourse. He cannot afford to be associated with the likes of Rush Limbaugh so he associates himself with Brooks of the New York Times and Ignatius of the Post and with "thoughtful congressional Democrats" (pardon the oxymoron) to unburden himself of his uneasiness over what he sees which, of course, is Obama spinning out of control.
It tells us a lot about how the mainstream media operates. It is more important who utters a proposition then that the proposition be true. Thus, if Rush Limbaugh first says that the country is being radicalized by Obama, the information is of no value. But if Ignatius and Brooks echo the same observation, albeit less stridently, then, because the admonition comes from the correct side of town, the observation is serious and should be heeded. If the observation is confirmed by "thoughtful Democrats," it must be true. Of course David Broder does not make these leaps that I have made, that is left to the reader.
Since Broder is the "Dean" of the Washington press corps, this column must be regarded to be a signal going out to the troops that there is a danger that their creation might be a Frankenstein-"but don't tell conservatives that I said so."
Well, Dean Broder, the party is over and it is time to sober up. We have a country to save from a mountebank, a potential megalomaniac, whom you put in power. Will you drop the political correctness long enough for a spasm of patriotism before it really is too late ?
Why should we care what yet another worthless liberal thinks? They all had aborted their “honeymoons” with any GOP president well before Election day.
Come on—lets get real. These liberals journalists have to take a few gentle swipes at Obama to maintain the faint illusion of objectivity. That’s all this is—nothing more.
Broder and his media cohorts are accomplices in all of this so he can shut up because that fact is not lost in all of this mess.
Very insightful . . . and amusing. kudos
Amen to that. Gotta keep up with that "Potemkin Village" facade you know.
It still befuddles me to this day why, every time another worthless liberal says something like this, many conservatives stupidly jump for joy and say "wow he/she finally saw the light!" when in the next story they are back to the same old tripe/
sounds like someone realized the heat had been turned up too high, and the frog was in danger of jumping out of the pot of boiling water
