A good use for “Porkulus” funding, would be video and audio cameras operating with recorder backup full-time in these classrooms.

Racist comments among students reinforce their inner-city attitudes, which precede outbreaks of actual violence. With video captures, not only can the perps be convicted with evidence, but the administrators won’t be able to hide behind the standard “violence is not really a problem here” PR line.

I find it hard to believe that a whitey crime victim in an inner city school would get any justice from a jury pool from that neighborhood. Sadly, the lessons of "Jim Crow" "justice" haven't been learned by everyone.

All the video in the world of violence toward the teachers and white students means nothing if the county will not do anything about it. And we know they won't because they fear that they will be branded with the word racist.

I have recommended this for years. Have complete audio and a 1 frame/second video in every class and let the kids know it. Keep the tapes for two weeks. With today's digital technology, this could easily be done. They should even make live video and audio from each classroom available on the internet. Why not? We are paying for what they are doing in the classroom. Why shouldn't we be able to randomly check up on what our employees (the teachers) are doing?
