Really? Waco, Ruby ridge, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation ring a bell?

I don't recall the details of Pine Ridge but Waco and Ruby Ridge will suffice for the purposes of my response.

The two incidences were indeed an example of an out of control and illegal use of power by the government. As I posted earlier, I think the ones we as Americans need to fear is Swat, ATF and possibly city police (and maybe a few others too). The abuse at Ruby Ridge and Waco were from ATF and the FBI, IIRC. With the exception of Waco which later brought in tanks from the military courtesy of Wesley Clark. (Clark was later rewarded with a star and head of Nato  appointment by Clinton)

However, these two incidences were isolated and on a very small scale when you consider what would happen if all out pandemonium broke out. I believe some in The US military could be persuaded initially to keep order but here is the thing, the men and women in the military are just like you and me. That is when they see the results of or are asked to abuse  their power against the citizenry and set out about their new duties, it's going to occur to them that the same abuse is also happening to their Mom, Dad, Brother , Sister, Wife, Daughter, well you get the point.

Do you think that they will be willing to do that to their bother in arms family let alone the citizens of their country? They are after all going to be subject to the abuses just like you and me. Now in my opinion this will cause revolt against the government, zer0 in particular, they will realize who the real enemy is, and it won't be the American People. Most in the military already know who the enemy is, you will just never hear it expressed by them.

For the worse case scenario that is being discussed on this thread to happen, another generation or two is going to have to be brainwashed into an obedient, no question of authority mode. This is why vigilance and pre emption are so important along  Free Republic and like minded sites. As long as we act accordingly, I don't believe it can happen, at least in my life time, but that is in now way meant to say that we should let our guard down because the threat is ever present and evil. The only way it can succeed is if we let it.

God Bless our country and give us the courage to face the enemy head on, with whatever it takes to preserve this great nation and may only the righteous be left standing!

And last but not least FUBO

I concede your point but still think you are failing to credit the communists with the ability they have shown numerous times.

yes 99.99% of our military would never think of shooting an innocent. yes the same people would never think to use their force upon American civilians.

It won’t come about overnight, it will be small steps accompanied with massive propaganda. For example the recent exercise in Iowa to search house to house for a ‘weapons dealer’. Those troops have no idea what they are really doing and are just following orders.

People with evil intent will seek out the more gullible, power hungry or whatever and will create their version of the SS or Gestapo. Next a specific class of people will be selected for persecution. This will help to unify the compliant and divide those who dissent. My guess is that it will be Christians or people who refused to accept the gay lifestyle. That’s how Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, Chavez (he’s trying), Castro did it. Of course some were more efficient at killing.
