You must be under the impression that all of the country wanted to seperate from England. They didn’t.
I’ve read that only about 30% supported the revolution. Thats partly why the founding fathers manufactured English atrocities.
Think again.
There's always a good number of people that want to keep the status quo. Not ruffle any feathers. They don't have a strong commitment either way. They just go with the flow. That is not applicable to our situation.
We now have a majority in this country who feed at the public trough. A majority that wants to take from a minority to “give” to themselves. Now it is their right to do so. That appetite can never be satisfied. There's no going back. Name a country in all of history that has ever been able to reverse on the road to socialism without going through collapse and/or destruction first. There's no indications to date that we are going to be the exception - guns or no guns.
