The question will still remain, “Where does the God particle come from?”
From is a preposition.
God is beyond definition. I pray for the mercy of his Son, Jeus, the Son of the Living God.
Before you I proclaim that I believe that Jesus is the Son of the living God, that whosever shall beliveth in me shall not perish, but have bever lefting life.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those men who in wickedness hold back the truth of God (from mankind), seeing that what may be known about God is manifest to them. For God has manifested it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen—His everlasting power also, and divinity—being understood through the things that are made. And so they are without excuse, seeing that, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God or give thanks, but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless minds have been darkened.
Right back at you, slick. /seinfeld :)
Or, maybe they are doing exactly the type of stuff God wants us to do. Like use the brains He gave us.
I’ve been wanting to left some bevers, too!
Worse, it misdirects the reader into thinking that Physics is the search for God. It's not that at all.
Physics is the study of God's Creation, a worthy endeavor to model and explain the Universe and its Laws, in terms that we mere mortals can comprehend and use to the enlightenment of mankind.
At least, that's why -I- undertook the study of Physics in college.
Personally, I'd find it exceeding odd (and delightful) if God turned out to be a subatomic particle. But I doubt it, since presumably the Higgs does not predate the Big Bang, that indescribably awesome Original Act of God.
The above is to be understood as my personal beliefs; YMMV.
COOL! But, what about the SATAN particle? Usually, reality is symmetrical so there should be an offsetting particle to the GOD particle.
Read the description of the scientific theory. It makes no sense to the mind of man, it seems circular, a riddle. The deeper the scientists go the more mystical they become, all the while proclaiming themselves atheists.
Better hurry up. All the bevers are moving to the right next week...
Very few scientists I know proclaim themselves atheists. Most believe in God in some form, and many consider their dedication to their life's profession to be a celebration of their belief in the majesty of God's Creation.
They may not say it that way in print, but they often talk like that when they know the listener understands that there is no self-contradiction in a scientist who believes in God.
Charming.
That's one way to Spin it.
No matter how many times I see it, that photo makes my insides curdle in terror. It’s like standing on he rim of the Grand Canyon, only a trillion times more awe-inspiring.
I suppose I was referring to scientists who view the universe in a purely mechanistic way driven ony by chance and without purpose. Certainly that is promoted as the rational scientific approach in contrast to religious fantasizing. I mean promoted in popular culture and by some scientists as well.
They may not say it that way in print, but they often talk like that when they know the listener understands that there is no self-contradiction in a scientist who believes in God.
According to the article, part of the reason they call it the God particle is that they see it everywhere. Philosophically, I'm find that an odd thing to disagree with.
In related news, a team of Cryptozoologists claim they have narrowed the field in their search for Godzilla since, apparently, the beast doesn't seem to be hiding in any of the team members garages...
