Thought this was interesting...ultra powerful, ultra fast charging and discharging batteries not capacitors.

Or maybe cars WITH laser weapons?

I want fricking lasers on my next car. Is that too much to ask?Only after the 297 airbags are developed.

"This level of power output would put these batteries on par with ultracapacitors, gadgets that can rapidly discharge power but can't carry much energy for their size, says John Miller, a vice president for systems and applications at Maxwell Technologies, a manufacturer of ultracapacitors, who wasn't involved in the research."
The only vehicle I've seen powered by an ultracapacitor:

I’ve always wanted laser cannons mounted underneath the front bumper on my car. Maybe controlled with a joystick in my center console. That would be cool.

forget the car... I just want a freaking powerful laser canon!

Ultimately, the energy capacity of lithium iron phosphate is lower than that of other lithium-ion battery materials, making Ceder's advance of limited value, I like how they save the negative news for last.

The investments in SDI related research in the 1980’s keep on paying off.

“I just want a freaking powerful laser canon!”
If they outlaw laser cannons soon only criminals will have laser cannons!
Just wanted to say that! ;)

Nothing to get excited about here. Hussein will make sure the nation does not have the needed electricity production capacity.

Just have Obama ordain it. So it is written, so it is done.
Legislating Innovation is the term I use.
Obama wants to raise the CAFE to 45 MPG. Why stop there? Make it 1000 MPG and life is good.
BTW - Lasers are only cool on a Flying Car. Are you listening Obama?

I think the best automotive application is regenerative braking. Up until now, regular batteries can't absorb the juice put out by using an electric drive motor/generator in the braking mode.
There was a concept using a geared up flywheel and a motor/generator which could spin up during braking, and then supply juice for acceleration after a stop. The flywheel would run in a low pressure chamber (vacuum) and at very high RPM.
Unless they turn into bombs or incendiary devices, the batteries sound a lot more practical.

Slowly but surely we see how the Leftwingtards are wasting their time trying to outlaw or regulate firearm ammunition.
