As an engineer, I’m all for more efficient technology. But push it because it lets us use our resources better, not because you’re hawking some climate change scam. Why not put the tech out there and let the market decide?

I like the new ones because I have high ceilings and they last a lot longer - fewer trips up the ladder. A lower electric bill is another plus.

As a fellow engineer, what pisses me off is that a) the touted longer lifetime of cfc bulbs ain’t what it was said to be, and b) the “instant bright” feature works at beginning of life, but soon diminishes.
Plus, you can’t just throw them away when they crap out.
At least, you’re not supposed to. ;-)
