This sounds a bit like the Campaign for Human Development, which has been supported by the bishops in the U.S. They have funded these left-wing agitator groups, who supposedly help the poor. This year they finally pulled funding for ACORN, supposedly because they absconded with funds, and not because they pushed for abortionist causes and politicians.
I’m considering not donating to the Bishop’s fund this year. Most of it goes to good causes, but some of it goes to these left wing groups, and I’m getting tired of that.
I think I’ll just send a wakeup call to the bishop’s office—no more donations until they dissolve the Campaign for Human Development and fire the staffers, and until they straighten out Catholic Charities. It’s a serious step, but it’s time the bishops woke up. It is their duty to help the poor, but not by supporting communist agitators.
