PRESIDENT Barack Obama is a whirlwind, a political miracle, a man of action on multiple fronts. He fits several moulds without straining.
The moulds are easily explained. As a successful politician, he strives to appeal to as many voters as he can. For independents, he is inclusive. He is digestible to more Republicans than any survey shows. For his own partys faithful, he is all things to all of them.
Mr. Obamas gambit is harder than it appears. As is their tradition, Democrats are split in fractious wings and flying off in all directions at once. Left liberals demand nanny-state legislation. Greenies want to kill oil and coal, regardless of cost. Mainstream Democrats are ready to cut deals as long as they come up on top. Labour wants jobs above all else. Internationalists have become invisible, but still have remnants of influence. And Mr. Obama has been in office exactly 52 days, as I write.
His ways are just as wily. Jackson Diehl, the Washington Posts deputy editorial page editor, presented him as "George W. Obama?" on Sunday. "Instead of comparing Obama to Franklin Roosevelt or Ronald Reagan," he wrote, "consider the parallels to George W. Bush in the period after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks."
Bush declared an all-out war on terrorism, but did not ask Americans to help pay for it.
Barack Obama addressed the joint session of Congress on Feb. 24. He spoke of "crisis" in the financial markets and said he would create a new "lending fund" for banks, housing and the auto industry. But he did not say who would pay. On the contrary, he promised 98 out of 100 Americans they would be taxed less, and the rich any family making more than $250,000 would pay the rest.

"I will give color to the chameleon." Richard III
He consumated the marriage. He ****ed the nation.
I saw Obambi on Fox news this morning. He was actually smiling and waving at the crowd. LOL I suppose someone told him to change his strategy.
