Parents better be thinking long and hard about leaving their kids in public schools these days.
If I read the article correctly the Judge said that the only reason that he was ordering the children into the Government Run left wing teaching School was that there was Religion being taught at the home schooling. Since the father did not want his children taught religion the judge moved in his direction.
But of course that is only my personal opinion and as they are doing in some states where they are stopping all home schooling and religious schooling if may not be anything that "We The People" can do anything about.

Well now, I didn’t see that info in the story. If the father is totally at fault in the divorce then the judge should give full custody to the mother. And if she has full custody, then she gets to make the decision how to educate the children. Where did you find that info?
Mills was forced to defend her right to homeschool during divorce proceedings brought on by her husband’s unfaithfulness. Mr. Mills admitted, under oath, to repeatedly committing adultery.

The guy has an affair and he should lose his right to be a father? Are you kidding me? That’s one of the problems in this country. I hear people bitching all the time about black men not being fathers. The court keeps a lot of men from being fathers.
He is always their father. He should forfeit his rights to decide how they are taught when the mother gained custody, due to his own actions. And he isn’t much of a father if he tears his kids apart emotionally.
Bring on the Church Nazis! Commit a sin and lose your parental rights! The problem is it will be others who will decide what is sinful and what is not.
What would you say if it’s determined that the mother had an affair? Does she lose her rights to be a mother and the state gets the children? Or what if the mother wants them to join a cult and worship the devil? Does the father have any rights to intervene? If the mother re-marries and the new husband is mistreating the children. Does the biological father have any rights to try and protect them? Slippery slopes, my friend.
That’s the way it was before “no-fault” divorces.
It was an incentive NOT to get divorced, and to NOT do something leading to divorce.
Wow, our society is SO much better now that we have “progressive” values.
The point is, the father admited to REPEATED affairs! He was bitter at the church for disassociating him for his repeated (read: non-repentive) sins. His bitterness at the church led to his seeking public education of the children, to their own detriment. What kind of caring, loving father would send his kids to public schools in Wake County, North Carolina? I rest my case.
Well - first, I think we see why the divorce came about - Mom wants kids raised with the Bible as their foundation (admirable and very desirable in my view). Dad wants the kids completely secularized and indoctrinated by the public schools.
Sounds to me like this woman was “unequally yoked” as we are warned about in 2 Corinthians...
And the jack-boot court is only too happy to force the kids into public school indoctrination camps.
Yep, the father who destroyed the marriage through infidelity (yes, he was in adultery), now wants a moral voice in the decisions of the children’s future.
A choice had to be made and the judge went with the father. I say “good for the judge”.
Here’s another example. What if the “mother” or “custodial” parent wants to send the kid to KKK camp? The father is an adulter so he has no say in the matter?
God judges for sins. That’s above my pay grade. So far, according to the law “sinning” is not grounds for losing your parental rights. If you think it is will you tell me which sins? Is it all of them? Or is it just adultery?

Not the point. And believe me, I know how horrible the public school system is. I’m all for home schooling and private schools. I’m also for father’s rights. This one may not be a good example but he DOES have rights even if the motivation is wrong.
Ordinarily I would agree that a father shares rights. In this case, however, I think the father is showing poor judgement and is simply being vindictive, to the harm of his own children. That alone makes him a poor father, regardless of the moral issues.
Your children tested two years above their grade levels, but the government will fix that for you.

You'll have to pardon me, since I was a victim of Government Schools, and all, though it did inspire me to make great sacrifices to insure my child did not become similarly victimized... but because of the deficiencies in my education, could you explain why government schooling is the obvious default decision in situations like this?
I honestly don't get it.
