Amen and amen! If I have to vote for someone who has no chance of winning at least give me someone with whom I agree and can stand up for. Not the case with RINO McCain. I realized a few days ago that we would have been better to have fielded a true conservative and lost than we were to field McCain and lost. Wasting your vote on a sure loser and voting for someone with whom you don't agree are two completely separate things.

We've got to run a true conservative and if we lose then at least we have a base to build on. Right now we lost and in the process we screwed the conservative cause.

I want a candidate that give me a list, on paper, of what he or she stands for and exactly what they will do in office. Also on the list would be the names of people who will be appointed to posts in the administration. Not necessarily by so-and-so for such-an-such a position, but a list of the people that will be chosen. Names like John Bolton, Ollie North, etc. If you don't like the stand or the people that's OK, vote for the other side. But at least those of us who support the ticket/team will be spared the anguish of being forced to vote for someone we knew would lose and who stood for things with which we didn't agree.

What you’re looking for is called “leadership.” No matter what people thought of Reagan’s policies, what they really appreciated was his leadership skill. He basically said “Here’s what I stand for, vote for me and we’ll go there together.” People respect that. That is why the Contract with America was successful— leadership. Conducting polls to set policy is more “management” in my opinion. There are three types of presidencies, I think: “leadership” presidencies, “management” presidencies, and “transitional” presidencies. I would classify Reagan and Bush 43 as leadership presidencies, Ford and Bush 41 as transitional presidencies, and Carter, Clinton as management presidencies. So far, Obama is the combination of the worst of all three....
