The article says that the stem cell debate which claims those in favor are enlightened and those opposed benighted is a triumph of propaganda over journalism.
It cites many medical researchers who are oppposed.

They really don’t understand how much they undermine themselve with their anti science views. Global warming, stem cells, any reporting on the effect of taxes on behavior and the list goes on of them undermining their credibility.
Punctuation is what the rest of us use to make a passage understandable...
Actually it was an outright lie.
Former President George W. Bush was the first to allow scientists to study human embryonic stem cells with federal funds. He limited federal funding to cell lines that had already been created using human embryos by August 2001, when his policy went into effect.
So why did you use three periods at the end of your sentence instead of just one.
