Air America Media (www.airamerica.com) has signed a multi-year deal with Montel Williams to host “Montel Across America,” debuting April 6. The program will air weekdays from 9am-12pm ET on radio stations across the country, and streamed live online.
“Montel is a multi-media star and a familiar name to millions of people across the country,” said Bennett Zier, Air America Media CEO. “The addition of Montel to our talent line-up is an important step for the continued growth of Air America, as we look to distribute Montel’s show across America.”
“After being on television for more than 17 years, I’m looking forward to engaging in lively conversations and interacting with the American public,” said Williams. “Air America is providing me with the perfect environment to do this every day from New York City, as well as reporting from cities around the world as a travelling correspondent.”

Another recognizable name going nowhere. Just another name for Airhead America wall of fame.
Figures he would. His Jerry Springer copy cat show was silly. I recall during his tv show during the 1990’s, Montel did a special on black churches being burned in the rural South. Montel blamed conservatives for fanning the falmes of racial hatred under the guise of welfare reform and tax cuts.
I wonder if he comes on after there folksy morning segment they used to have ‘Sedition in the Morning.’
Hopefully now that he’s in radio we no longer see him in those stupid pharmaceutical commercials.

Dick Cheney Oversaw Assasinations

Investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has just reported Dick Cheney directly managed assassinations while serving as vice president. Hersh spoke to an audience at the University of Minnesota last night.
Isn’t he the guy who was touting the Obama coins that turned out to be 50 cent pieces with stickers of Obama’s kisser pasted on them? They cost an exorbitant price. Big Ripoff.
Also his show doesn't engage in sleaze.

On October 13, 2006, Air America filed for bankruptcy protection under Chapter 11, at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Air America continued broadcasting while the finances were worked out with the creditors. The company had US$4,331,265.30 in assets and US$20,266,056.23 in liabilities. Al Franken alone was owed US$360,749.98 and Rob Glaser, founder of Real Networks, was owed the most at US$9.8 million. The filing had over 25 pages of creditors and showed that the company lost US$9.1 million in 2004, US$19.6 million in 2005 and an additional US$13.1 million by mid-October in 2006.
On January 29, 2007, Air America “signed a letter of intent to sell its business to SLG Radio LLC, an entity controlled by Stephen L. Green, the founder and chairman of SL Green Realty Corp, a company that controls 27 million ft2 (2.5 million m2) of real estate with a market capitalization of US$12 billion”. Air America CEO Scott Elberg said of Air America’s sale, “We are extremely pleased to have reached this agreement with Mr. Green, which will solidify Air America’s future.” The sale was completed on March 6, 2007 to Green Family Media, a new company created by Stephen Green and his brother Mark J. Green.

After the sale, major changes were quickly put into place. Stephen became the network’s chairman, and Mark became president of Air America, with a hands-on role. Former chief executive Scott Elberg remained as chief operating officer. Mark Green announced on Thursday, April 25, 2007 that Westwood One would take over the handling of Air America’s ad sales from Jones Radio Networks. In addition, a new lineup was unveiled for the radio network. The top four weekday shows were kept, but extensive changes were made to the rest of the lineup. Green also announced a redesign for the network’s website, in addition to a new logo.

Mark J. Green (b. March 15, 1945) is a public interest author and lawyer and a former Democratic politician who lives in New York City. He is currently the president of Air America Radio.
He has collaborated on published works several times with consumer advocate Ralph Nader. His most recent book is Change for America: A Progressive Blueprint for the 44th President, a transition policy book for President Obama, produced in conjunction with John Podesta’s Center for American Progress Action Fund.
Green has been married to Deni Frand, a former director of the New York City office of liberal interest group People for the American Way, since 1977. They have two children, Jenya and Jonah. Green’s brother is real estate developer Stephen L. Green.
